That quiet swish of snow under your sticks in the bitter, cold, Idaho weather is the best warmth you'll know in the cold heart of winter. Add to that the happy chatter as students 8-18 attempting to maneuver boards and skis across Pebble Creek Ski Hill's steeps. This makes the slice of heaven we've been looking for in the snow all the sweeter. What would our kids be doing if they didn't have this opportunity!? Well, thanks to Pebble Creek Ski Area, we don't know!

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, try to reflect on that last paragraph. Then, think about how you would feel if your kids got a day of skiing or boarding lessons for a nominal fee. That's what Pebble does for our schools. With the Pebble Creek Ski Area Schools Ski Program, our students are taught skills that can be used for the rest of our student's lives. They teach them a sport that will be attainable for their lifetimes. Along with the ability to maneuver snow-covered slopes, these children have been taught the confidence to hit the hill and charge the mountain with their friends. Confidence on the hill is a life boost that will resound in our children's personalities for years to come. And, I cannot stress enough, it is the most reasonable expense! For less than a season pass, our students had ski/snowboard lessons, rentals and owned the mountain 3-4 full days!!!

With the school skiing programs, Pebble Creek Ski Area has given our students the chance to master the snow and exude positive self-esteem in a sullen winter. For that, all I can say is "Thank you, Pebble!"

If you can ski Pebble, you can ski anywhere! ...

We were treated absolutely HORRIBLE at this mountain.

This was my family’s first trip to this mountain, and we will NOT return. Which is disappointing considering that it is beautiful!

The first thing that happened was my little Family was yelled at for sitting more than four at a table, so my husband was supposed to take two of my small children over to a separate table than myself and other small child? That’s fine, we respect the rules of Covid, but either have a sign that says “no more than 4 to a table” or at least treat us nicely when you ask us to separate after already buying a meal from you.

2nd- my husband was drinking his beer outside, and went to stand in the line, he was yelled at by two different employees AT THE SAME TIME to throw it out or get out of line. (Again people, the rules are just fine, but have a sign that says “no alcohol in the line) or teach your employees how to treat paying customers with a little respect.

And finally, my husband goes to get on the lift, and is kicked out of line for having the wrong “lift ticket”, my husband went to the window when we arrived and bought a ticket for himself and was given the wrong one. Instead of the man at the lift advising him to go to the ticket counter to sort it out, he told him to get out of his line. Additionally when we tried to sort this out at the lift ticket office we were met by the manager saying there was nothing she was going to do about it. ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS way to be treated by employees of such a highly rated ski mountain. Don’t recommend this place for your next family vacay. Such a...

I have never seen or had so many problems getting on the lift as I did today. The two attendants at the bottom of the aspen hill were not paying attention which caused very unsafe loading conditions. I saw 3 children, one being my 6 yr old son, fall out of the chair and get hit with the chair because they weren't paying attention. Neither them or the 3 star instructors tried to help the other two kids up. A snowboarder unstrapped his foot and rushed from 6 people back to help one of the kids up and help him get safely on the lift while the 5 pebble employees stood where they were and watched. My son lost his ski and no one was paying attention as I asked for help repeatedly from the chair. In a third incident My son was at one point dangling and i couldn't lift him, it didn't seem like they were going to stop the lift for me to get him situated. They did eventually stop it after me frantically yelling. I was really worried this experience would affect my son wanting to ski. Usually the lift attendants are so helpful, attentive, and aware. I was very disappointed in how many dangerous situations they caused today. *Update I had a much better experience this weekend. The attendant's name was Alex Austin, and he was amazing. He was friendly and attentive. He was so helpful and made it such a great time. I made sure to thank him for how...

This local ski area is known for it's back country access, tree skiing, and expert terrain (over 50% of the in-bounds skiing is black diamond or better). If you are not familiar with the area, its worth meeting new friends on the lift and asking questions as many official runs are accessed by bunny trails and traverses. Areas like Sunshine Bowl and South Bowl are opened based on snow conditions and are worth asking about. For beginners, the Aspen area offers a variety of green options to gain confidence. All night skiing is done on the Aspen. Many local businesses support free weeknight ski nights in January and February, an inexpensive way for beginner skiers to get started (and get hooked). You will see busloads of area schoolchildren at the mountain on weekdays. Lessons and rentals are available at the base area (including helmets). Check the website for a schedule of events such as the Legends of Lift Line competition, Dummy Jump, Pond Skim, and more. The Rock Bottom often has live music on the weekends.

Just got into skiing this year for the first time ever. I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else for skiing at the moment. I was told by other more experienced skiers that the bunny hill here is not really a bunny hill. Infact, there really isn’t one here at all. The slopes here are challenging, but that’s the beauty of it. It makes you work harder as a beginner and if you’re serious about getting into skiing, what better place to take the plunge and try it out. They do offer group and personal ski classes, though I haven’t used them. From what I’ve seen though from the instructors there on the slopes, they look very informative. I’ll give my money to Pebble Creek any day.
