I've driven by it a thousand times saying, "We need to check that out." My wife, grandson, and I finally went there today. What a nice place. Of course, anytime there is running water, you'll get my vote. There is a nice walking path. There's a disk golf course. Beautiful scenery. Did I say, "Running water"? My grandson and I came back later to fish. He hooked about a 12" trout. Alas, it is "the one that got away". But, not to be skunked, he hooked a massive Bullhead. ( See photos.) Read moreRock Creek Park really surprised me when we went there for the first time. We accidentally let our dog off his leash then immediately saw a sign that said there's a big fine if your dog is off leash.... oops 😬 but it is so beautiful there and it's only 10 minutes away from my house. It's extremely peaceful and calming which is great because I have really bad anxiety and panic attacks and I feel like if I could just walk around here for a bit I would be okay. It's similar to my safe place up in Stanley ID I feel a sense of being at ease when I'm there. I'm sure there's lots of history to it that I have yet to learn but I'm excited to explore and learn...
Read moreBeautiful park. Frisbee golf, horseshoe pits, lots of shaded areas with BBQ grills. Picnic shelters, a playground, fishing in Rock creek. There is a small dock you can fish off of.
