Rock Creek Park — Attraction in Idaho

I've driven by it a thousand times saying, "We need to check that out." My wife, grandson, and I finally went there today. What a nice place. Of course, anytime there is running water, you'll get my vote. There is a nice walking path. There's a disk golf course. Beautiful scenery. Did I say, "Running water"? My grandson and I came back later to fish. He hooked about a 12" trout. Alas, it is "the one that got away". But, not to be skunked, he hooked a massive Bullhead. ( See photos.) Rock Creek Park really surprised me when we went there for the first time. We accidentally let our dog off his leash then immediately saw a sign that said there's a big fine if your dog is off leash.... oops 😬 but it is so beautiful there and it's only 10 minutes away from my house. It's extremely peaceful and calming which is great because I have really bad anxiety and panic attacks and I feel like if I could just walk around here for a bit I would be okay. It's similar to my safe place up in Stanley ID I feel a sense of being at ease when I'm there. I'm sure there's lots of history to it that I have yet to learn but I'm excited to explore and learn...

Beautiful park. Frisbee golf, horseshoe pits, lots of shaded areas with BBQ grills. Picnic shelters, a playground, fishing in Rock creek. There is a small dock you can fish off of. Foot trails provide multiple ways in and out of the park, along with vehicle parking at all trailheads. Very clean and well maintained. Bathrooms are really clean. My favorite place to go...
