A park as massive as the town is small.
I’m not kidding when I say this park is massive for the size of the town its located in. When I set my destination to this place, my girlfriend (who is from the area) said it was a hangout spot for her as a kid. She failed to mention how massive the place was.
We got there and parked and I had to ask, “Is this really it?! This park is huge!”. She confirmed that my eyes weren’t playing trick on me. This park really is spread out with lots of open fields and areas to hike.
Time was important since the sun was setting, so we didn’t get to spend the afternoon seeing what the park had to offer. We did get to walk around a little bit, play on some of the playground equipment, and check out Lee Cabin. The cabin was a cool little gem hidden in a park that is a gem itself.
There isn’t much else to say. Its a park that you can seemingly do a lot at. Walk, hike, play on the equipment, picnic… and who knows what else since I only saw parts of it.

She has been quick to respond and I found it so nice to be able to reserve for our sons dedication event coming up. My son loves playing at the park here. Metamora is safe, friendly, the park is so big and spacious and there is seating enough for everyone! Facilities are there and available for use. Years ago, I we had a photo shoot down one of the trails. Ran with the girls soccer team of Metamora High School one...
Read moreThe place is good for mountain bike riding. The weather was good(30°F) and the trails covered with a thin layer of leaves were excellent. Why spots revealed by the end of the ride on sunny trail segments.
The park is closed for cars in winter but there is a small parking lot by the park where runners, hikers and MTB riders park.
There is a playground for kids at the park entrance, restrooms(not sure if they work in winter), and two or three baseball fields where kids training from...
