⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Castle Park, or the Jeremy "Boo" Rochman Memorial Park, is an absolute gem in Carbondale and a must-visit for anyone in the area. This isn't just a playground; it's a living, breathing fantasy world that sparks the imagination of both kids and adults.

From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by a whimsical and enchanting atmosphere. The parking situation on No Name Road is perfectly fine, and the short walk to the entrance only builds the anticipation. The park itself is impeccably clean and beautifully maintained, a testament to the care and love that the Rochman family and the community pour into it.

The centerpiece castle is a marvel of creativity, with its intricate tunnels, towers, and bridges just begging to be explored. But the real magic is in the details: the dozens of hand-crafted sculptures of dragons, wizards, and knights scattered throughout the grounds. Each one tells a story and offers a fantastic photo opportunity.

This park truly caters to everyone. Kids can run and play, living out their medieval fantasies, while adults can enjoy the artistry and sit on one of the many benches strategically placed for rest and reflection. It's a place where the young at heart can feel right at home. I also appreciate that dogs are welcome, making it a perfect spot for the whole family to enjoy a walk together (just remember to bring a bag for cleanup!).

Castle Park is more than just a park; it's a heartfelt tribute that has blossomed into a cherished community space. It's a place of wonder, joy, and peace. I can't...

Note on days of inclement and very bad weather this park is closed and when visiting check the weather conditions before you visit.

This is a park to honor the loss of a child, called away due to a tradegy and the private park is designed to celebrate the enjoyment of parent and children into a small area. Donations are asked for, if you wish to do so.

The park is easy to find on the Giant City Black Top. In the city of Carbondale. As for adults, if you want to just go and sit in the shade on a butterfly bench and reflect on a loss of a loved one and to celebrate the time they filled their life, is a serene place to do so.

To further the experience to Southern Illinois, as you decide to leave. Turn to the left toward Giant City Park and drive till you come to the T in the road. Turn left and proceed to the Giant City Lodge, and enjoy another jewel in Southern Illinois. At Giant City Lodge the water Tower Observatory deck is a great place to have a 360 view of the Shawnee National Forest. If thirsty enjoy the longe and if hungry the dining and restaurant is one of the best places to enjoy a meal to a day...

This is one of my absolute favorite places to visit in the area. Been coming here ever since I was a little kid. The castle is big and pretty easy to get lost in, super fun to explore! There's hidden doors and passageways, monsters, goblins, wizards, unicorns and of course dragons hidden all around around the area! A giant bell you can ring, lots of beautiful plant life around. Benches to sit at, a good place for a picnic. Look in the trees and you may find something.. This place is Perfect for anyone who loves the fantasy realm, kids and adults alike! This place was built in memory of a young boy who had a love for things like this. I highly suggest you give this place a visit, even if you're not a big fan of fantasy lands, it's still a beautiful sight to see. Unfortunately I lost the photos I took from my last visit. I live in marion but next time I go I will...

We arrived here at a foggy, dark dusk. There were lightings above the East horizon. The air was electrified and the grass recently rained. A family was leaving and then there we were, only us against dragons, knights and wizards. We rode the unicorn and ask for help to the king. They showed us the path to the castle. The guards let us get in, but soon we realized that the castle was tricky. If we didn't watch our steps, we could fall in the orc dungeon, or lost in the catacombs. Luckily, we conquered the tower and had dinner in the monarcs room. As an adult, you don't re-experience your childhood very often. The owner of this place has built something truly magical. One of the best experiences in my life. Thank you
