I must've had the wrong settings on the maps, but Google tried to send me straight to the trails twice! We've been to this preserve thrice now and know two parking lots, one off of Kelsey and another off of Old Barrington. The latter connects to a playground and a village hall. The trails are great, so are the views 😀 lots of bikes so pay attention (like you always should). 😀

The area shown on Google is just the 100 acre Hurd property addition, the whole forest preserve is 700 acres. Additional parking is at the Village Hall on Old Barrington Road. Several miles of great walking trails. Bikes are not allowed. A variety of landscapes, including mature oaks, some of it being restored to original habitat.

This forest preserve has two primary trails. The Red Trail is shorter and is great for a brief dog walk. There is a spot to take in the shoreline of the Fox River. The Yellow Trail - south of Kelsey - ends with an elevated scenic overview that is great for birding.

We came to buy takeaway, a girl served us very kindly and I think her name is Mandy, but we were so unlucky that it was her time to leave. When this pleasant served left, our nightmare began, we are Hispanic, obviously here in Round Lake we are the majority Hispanic, when we thought that things were going to be better for us, or surprise, a fat short girl along with a skinny girl, as they saw us, they wanted us, try to start the portions What we were missing was remember that Mandy had already served us most of it even with promotion and everything, the portions that the fat lady was serving were like for kids meal and there was a giso that Lui was delaying and I understand it I work in the kitchen I go back to the story kid meal and the chubby chambona had the idea together with the skinny one to serve us whatever they want hahahaha 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 what they didn't expect is that my wife and I were watching everything there wouldn't have been a problem but their mockery was what we couldn't stand I immediately canceled the order and I made him see his stupid way of thinking, he measured me by short rustic English and thought I was retarded and at all times they did not retract if they were with their mockery and lack of respect it seems that they assume that their status as cashiers It gives them the power to have stereotypes and label more than that way they treat people, those same simple humble people forget that because of us they are in that service of servitude I hope the manager takes action on the matter. For me it is easy to come to another place where they value the customer and try to serve equally with respect...

Great place to walk. Problems: 1) a few people don't clean up after their dogs; get with it people. 2) For a while they were considering allowing bicycles on this path which would completely change and destroy the quiet natural feel of the path. Bikes also cause excessive erosion and unless funds are allocated to repair the bike damage from Day 1 onward and the work is actually done, this path as is, would be ruined. Hikers should lobby against bikes on this and...
