Heidecke Lake — Attraction in Illinois

I was fishing there around 2002 regularly during summer break. From a boat a catfhish was a common catch using some beef liver. 6h of fishing resulted in about ten 7lb catfish. The pawerplant was active at that time. There was also a fishing store with lures and everything you need. A parking for cars with trailers...

Ill give my perspective from bank/shore fishing.

Its mostly a decent place to fish, there is a fair amount of trash and tackle left about from time to time.

Plenty of birds eat the fish here which means dead fish and skeletons can be found around too.
