So glad this is surrounded by a Mire! People drained the Kankakee Swamp, which no one seems to know about anymore. It was larger than the Everglades! An oasis from Danville, in Danville! Bring a picnic lunch and sit under the pavilion then walk down the paved sidewalk to the tower. See the lake from the marsh or climb the tower for a more broad view. Take a short and easy stroll on the boardwalk through the Lilly pads and cat tails.
