Stopped by today while bike riding along the I & M canal trail. The Kayak Rental is now available. Eight kayaks available in the locked racks. $15 for 1 hour or $25 for 2 hour rental. Can't wait to try it out! No need to haul your own but an access ♿ launch area if you do have your own or renting. Beautiful setting! Bring your hand sanitizer for the restroom. 09/13/24 - Just a quick follow up. We've now used the rental kayaks twice with the $99 year membership through Rent.fun. Well worth getting the membership! Read moreWonderful local place for walking, boating, and fishing. The main paved path is under 1 mile around. I've biked it as part of my ride to the I &M canal. The area has been upgraded with expanded parking and a new canoe ramp. I've taken my kayaks there and enjoy going around the lake. I don't fish, so I can not comment on that. Also, after crossing the walking bridge, there is a walking trail unpaved that takes you back further in the wooded area around the lake. I've taken the path, but haven't visited all the back trail ways. Don't miss a fun time here. There is no separate play...
Read moreThis is a spring fed quarry lake. They have worked to improve parking and accessibility and even put in a beautiful handicapped accessible canoe/kayaking loading ramp. The rest rooms are new and clean. There are very nice shelters and even an overlook deck which is also good for fishing from. The lake is divided by a narrow channel which passes under a pedestrian/bike path. The path circles the lake and is about .7 miles. Many people fish here and the water grass and depth ranges provide great opportunities to fish. The lake is small and the shores are mostly rocky but certainly a good for a two hour excursion on the kayaks with fairly easy in...
