One of my favorite places. It's absolutely huge, which you don't really realize until you're there. A great variety of hikes. The Bison are awesome when they're near the paths. The bugs are atrocious in the warm and wet, so dress for protection. Hiking is great at all times of the year.

Read moreFree.... Peaceful trails. None too strenuous. Parts of our trial had signs knocked off in the tall grass. If you want to get outside, it's a nice area. Wheelchair and disability scooter accessible. Some of the trail is now grass but it is mowed. Was a little tiring to push the wheelchair. Didn't see the bison when we were there. Read moreWide open prairie on big trails. I enjoyed it overall. There were some good views on the slopes down to the Kankakee River and a nice little stream meanding through the park. Given the trails are quite wide, they lack a little character and the feeling of remoteness that make it a 5 star experience.
