Never been to this preserve before today, a beautiful spring day when things are just starting to bloom. I may have caught it at just the perfect time, but it's a wonderful place to study plants. It felt almost prehistoric with the amazing number of different plants covering the grounds - it's quite different from a lot of preserves where invasive honeysuckle is overtaking everything. Expect some muddy, bumpy trails (though the loop that was the muddiest can be avoided, it was not difficult to navigate). Benches are in many places along the paths so you can sit next to a small stream and enjoy the sounds of nature. There's a beautiful pine grove as well. We passed a couple of people but this preserve felt comfortably secluded. Due to the wet areas, I'd expect mosquito season to be a little rougher, but I can't wait to go back.

Always a Must-Visit as well if your wanting some fresh air or knowledge of the area! We grew up going going on field trips here even...granted, it's has definitely improved over the years! You can find a nice peaceful trail to go for a walk on...or even just find one of multiple spots that you can get out, stretch your legs, or even just visit if you need some quiet time to think! I was very impressed with the newer restrooms they have installed...and even added some shelter, along with a fire pit and a play ares for the kids! I will always visit this peaceful little place, Highly recommend!

What a hidden gem! Beautiful trails with a creek and wild flowers along the way. We were shown the octagon building as it is being renovated as an event venue. Fun swing and climbing tower, and a slide. Don't skip this one, it'll prove it's value!

Amazing little chunk of happiness

Update: I originally posted thi review over 2 years ago. But here I am now because I just had to come back and say this. This place is truly magical. I'm not sure what's up with it but it just feels like the right place to be. Before I moved from the area I went for one last walk through the trails the day after a brutal storm had passed through the area. All of the bridges and walkways were essentially gone and completely washed away. It hurts my heart to have had to see that place like that for the last time. I hope the restoration efforts have went well and I cant wait for the day where I can take another lap...
