Owl Creek Vineyard — Attraction in Illinois

I can't say enough to detail the poor customer service and pompous attitude of the owners. The wine is mediocre at best and couple that with the atmosphere, the place is not worth the stop on the wine trail. If you are looking to ruin your day off or party event, this is the place to go. I've read several reviews of the terrible customer service but didn't believe it until I experienced it first hand. Southern IL offers much better wine and wine companies to choose from. If you are traveling the wine trail, I would skip this place. Too bad google doesn't offer a negative option. The poor experience begins as you turn off the highway. The entrance is gravel and full of pot holes. Once you reach the winery, you will be greeted by an owner mowing who will choose not to shut off his mower blades and cover your vehicle with grass. When this is overlooked in pursuit of a glass of wine, he might turn the mower around and head your way while walking and cover you in dust and rock chips as you look to enter the building. This is where he might unapologetically introduce himself and explain he has been in business for 40 years and does not value his customers at all. Starview, Blue Sky, and hogg hollow would all offer better service and certainly better wine! Obviously from your response, customer care isn't something of high regard for you. We went to the winery 11-21-21. They had a band outdoors and it was chilly. The 2 staff members were very very friendly and gave great service. We asked if we went outside to listen to the band if they could light the heaters that were out there. They said they were not allowed to start them, but said the owner lived close by and would come and light them. After about 30 minutes the heaters were still not on, but we went outside to support the music, and the girl playing was very cold, and we were cold. We asked again, and they said he would be right there. He finally came, and one of the heaters wouldn’t work (probably out of gas). We asked about having the music inside, or at least lighting the heaters when the music starts. The owner was extremely rude. My husband and I came here while we were on a trip for my birthday. The atmosphere was somewhat chaotic and some of the flavors for ciders they had were very similar. We didn't mind that so much but the cost of their tastings were a little more pricy than where we had been already. However, you did get your money's with for them which was good. We did get food from here too since we hadn't eaten all day. The food was not the best. It seemed like it was made in the microwave. My husband sent his food back and they were good about the refund. They were pretty busy but there were no clean tables in sight.
