I love DuPage Forest Preserves, but this one is my least favorite to walk at, and I rarely visited in the over decade I lived near it. I prefer a varied walk, with some paths in the sun and some in the shade. The prairie preserve is mostly in the sun, which is to be expected as it is a prairie, so that aspect doesn't figure into my rating. I would have gone more in cooler weather when the sun feels good, but because of the path location, I kept away. The busy roads are visible from the main path, so I never felt got that feeling of being enveloped in nature as I do at the other preserves.

However, for the sake of wildlife, this preserve is important--my rating is in regard to my experience as a visitor, not in regard to the importance of the preserve itself.
