Springbrook Prairie park is a wonderful place to enjoy nature and have fun with family and friends. The park is home to a diverse and rare bird community, as well as beautiful prairies and meadows. You can explore the trails on foot, bike, or horseback, or visit the off-leash dog area, model-aircraft field, or picnic shelters. The park also has a stream that provides habitat for aquatic life and helps with flood control. Whether you are looking for a relaxing stroll, a challenging workout, or a fun activity, Springbrook Prairie park has something for everyone. I highly recommend this park to anyone who loves nature and outdoor recreation. It is one of the best preserves in DuPage County and a gem of Naperville.

The park is very well-maintained and has clean restrooms, drinking water, and hot-coal disposal containers. The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful, and they offer guided tours and educational programs throughout the year. You can learn about the history and ecology of the park, and how to protect and restore it for future generations.

The park is a birder's paradise, with over 200 species of birds recorded, including some state-endangered ones. You can see and hear them in the grasslands, wetlands, and woodlands, and enjoy their colorful plumage and melodious songs. The park also has a variety of butterflies, dragonflies, and other insects that add to the beauty and diversity of the ecosystem.

The park is a great place to exercise and stay healthy, with over 7 miles of trails that are open to hikers, bicyclists, horseback riders, and cross-country skiers. The trails are well-marked and offer different levels of difficulty and scenery. You can also bring your dog to the off-leash area, where they can run and play with other dogs in a fenced and safe environment.

Springbrook Prairie park is a place where you can connect with nature and yourself, and have a memorable and enjoyable time. It is a park that deserves your visit and...

I love DuPage Forest Preserves, but this one is my least favorite to walk at, and I rarely visited in the over decade I lived near it. I prefer a varied walk, with some paths in the sun and some in the shade. The prairie preserve is mostly in the sun, which is to be expected as it is a prairie, so that aspect doesn't figure into my rating. I would have gone more in cooler weather when the sun feels good, but because of the path location, I kept away. The busy roads are visible from the main path, so I never felt got that feeling of being enveloped in nature as I do at the other preserves.

However, for the sake of wildlife, this preserve is important--my rating is in regard to my experience as a visitor, not in regard to the importance of the preserve itself. There used to be a model airplane runway, which I took my kids to sometimes. Enthusiasts would spend months building these wonderful airplanes, and then they would fly them there. That was a...

the park occupies a fairly large territory. very convenient map and location system. Great for athletes: cyclists, runners and walkers. and it will also be interesting for your dog)) when you overcome 5.5 miles with it, then your dog will probably sleep all day. pay attention to this point: this is a prairie park, not a forest! therefore there are few sites in the shade of trees. it can be very hot in the sun, even in cool weather. do not forget the hat! the landscape is quite monotonous, but certainly beautiful. this is a real prairie! with the aroma of wild herbs, many birds and butterflies. if you are running or you like fast cycling, be careful: there are two crossings over a busy road, do not...

Last time we came to this dog park in the summer Zuri was crazy. First time back here since Zuri has been in dog school, and I am so impressed with how she behaved today! This dog park is awesome with so many fenced in trails for dogs to explore off leash! #bernesemountaindog #bernedoodle #dogsoftiktok #springbrookprairie #forestpreserve #illinois #dogpark #trails

Springbrook is the perfect place to run or bike or, hey, just go for a walk. It's all crushed limestone and very open and safe. The main loop is about 5.4 miles around crossing Book Road twice (once north, once south). There are two primary parking lots: 83rd Street and Plainfield-Naperville Road (which has restrooms); also, there is a smaller parking lot off P-N Road and you can connect from Walmart's lot. There is a little elevation change and Bek Hill which has a nice view of the Preserve. For fun, you can also run under the P-N overpass and get another 3 mile loop, some of which is grass and dirt; that section has a little bridge which is very picturesque.
