If your boat ever dies out on the reservoir, don't expect any help from the marina when you can't for the life of you flag down a passing boater for help and you have elderly parents (one with a heart a fib condition) and a young wife in need. They don't do boat tows due to liability, which I understand, but they would not ask any boaters around if they could go give us a tow. The response that I got from the young man on the phone was that he couldn't go and notify boaters of our situation to provide help because he had to watch the till. Only if it was an emergency is what he said. To me and anyone in my spot it was an emergency. The marina acted like they didn't care and would rather have you end up in the obituaries is what I was left feeling. They wanted me to leave my boat on the shore by the narrows when my truck is parked at soldier creek. If I left my boat it would have been destroyed on the rocks from the waves. I have enjoyed paying for goods and services at the marina, but how I was treated was more rotten than a dead fish wrapper. 8/19/19 stuck on shore for three hours from 5pm. I expect better customer service than this and with empathy, not sympathy. We paid a boater $100 to tow our boat to soldier creek that finally stopped by us. The marina continued to put the health and our lives in danger and I will tell all my boating friends of this experience. The boater that towed us when hearing of this was shocked that the workers at the marina were so uncaring and unwilling to help us even at least notifying other boaters at the marina of our situation and that we were willing to even pay for help. I apologize if I may have offended those on the phone, it was a stressful, scary situation that I was...
Read moreWe don't hate this place, we have always had the best experience here every single year til now. We usually reserve one of their aspen grove campsite, but this time we brought more family and reserved 2 campsites side by side. Our family member got there early and started setting up because the site we reserved was empty, yes our reserved area wasn't available until 2:00 pm but we were told that we had kicked someone out of their place that was already reserved, we were there @9:30, no one in there right mind pays 50$ for reservation at a camp for a few hours then leave by 2pm, um no one. Then we got kicked out which is fine, we were there before 1pm and kicked out before 1pm, we should get our money back for the 3 nights we paid for, they refused, the man running the place just kept yelling at us and gave us 5 min to get out, we had a camper pulled out and 2 tents to put away, he called the cops and lied that we were taking our sweet time, yea, well I would like to see him put 2 tents down in five min. With that kind of ownership and lack of civil rights, no more business from us anymore, anyone who wants to camp there with a large fam, make sure u keep your tickets and stub, if this happens to you. He ruined our family reunion this weekend. Its not worth paying 50$ for a few hours and then you just get kicked out. If they do that then that means that if you are meant to leave by 2pm but are still there 5 or 10 min past, prepare to get botched...
Read moreIt was my first trip here! Gotta keep an eye on some of the back roads. Some are unpaved and those that were weren't too well maintained. Potholes were a problem for half a mile. I was driving an '05 Toyota Camry and my average speed was less than 6MPH in that area or I'd risk a tire blowout or a broken axle. My car suffered no damage but it's a good idea for all drivers to be careful! The weather was nice before it got too hot and I saw some spectacular views. Plenty of room for camping spots and also plenty of bathrooms! I passed maybe a dozen bathroom and campsites in a one-mile stretch. Definitely camper-friendly. There was a pretty good restaurant at the marina that I recommend but no gas stations in sight. Fill up your vehicle with gas before going beyond Heber City. A lot of side roads, paved and unpaved, leading to apparently nowhere. You don't want to get lost!!! The beautiful scenery was worth the trip, plus a second that I'll make soon when it isn't so...
