A Local Gem near Indian Trail Crooked Creek Park, located near Indian Trail, is an absolute treasure that I am fortunate to have close to my house. This park offers a plethora of fantastic amenities that cater to both fitness enthusiasts and families alike. One of the standout features of Crooked Creek Park is the impeccably maintained asphalt and rock paved walking paths. These paths prove to be a true blessing, especially during inclement weather when the ground becomes muddy. Regardless of the rain, I can enjoy a peaceful stroll or invigorating jog without worrying about my shoes getting soaked or caked in mud. The park's commitment to maintaining these paths is greatly appreciated and sets it apart from many other parks in the area. For those looking to break a sweat and work up a good sweat, the workout park at Crooked Creek is an absolute dream come true. Equipped with a variety of fitness equipment, it provides an excellent space for a full-body workout. Whether you prefer strength training exercises, cardiovascular activities, or a combination of both, this workout park has you covered. It's a great resource for fitness enthusiasts who enjoy outdoor workouts and want to enjoy the beauty of nature while staying fit. Not forgetting the little ones, Crooked Creek Park also boasts an amazing kids park. The playground is thoughtfully designed, with age-appropriate structures and a safe environment for children to explore and have fun. From swings to slides and climbing structures, there are endless opportunities for kids to unleash their imagination and engage in active play. The park's commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable space for children is commendable, making it a favorite spot for families in the community. Overall, Crooked Creek Park is a true gem near Indian Trail, offering excellent amenities for individuals of all ages. The well-maintained walking paths provide a convenient and mud-free experience, allowing visitors to enjoy outdoor activities no matter the weather. The workout park offers a fantastic opportunity for fitness enthusiasts to stay active and work up a sweat, while the kids park ensures a fun-filled and safe space for children to play and explore. I highly recommend paying a visit to Crooked Creek Park if you're in the area. It's a place where fitness, family, and fun come together harmoniously, leaving visitors with memorable experiences and a strong desire to return. Enjoy the beauty of this local gem!

Where do I start...Amazing! Discovered this gem while attending family fun day this weekend. The park itself is slighy recluse. The splashpad is a special treat with a shaded table seating area, several benches (some unshaded), and faux grass as well; fun for both kids & adults. The shaded playground is state of the art with a kid-friendly zipline, parent-child swing, music area, picinc tables, and for $2 you can purchase a cold beverage from a vending machine (that works!). Its fun for kids & adults. There's ample parking and you can reserve the play area and/or one of several picnic areas for an event. Onsite grills at each seated area (not sure about the playground site). There's corn-hole, ping pong, and other entertainment...just bring the bean bags, rackets, etc. There's ample free space for recreation. Highly recommend at least 1 visit. Conveniently located off I-485. Approx. 35 minutes from Concord Mills. Lodging, restaurants & shopping nearby.

Love this park! The playgrounds are incredible and my 4yr old had so much fun on everything they had, including the Zipline and seesaw. There was *plenty* of shade for parents to sit or stand under in this awful heat we've been having, so it wasn't a miserable park visit, as it tends to be in the summers. Made me want to come back! They also have the incredibly diverse splash pad area to cool kiddos off. My daughter went back and forth between the splash pad and the playground which was helpful. The splash pad has a fence around it for safety, which is reassuring! The ice cream truck came by 12:30 and provided a cool treat to kiddos too. Excellent park! I can't believe I only discovered this now. Will come back again and again, and prefer it to Colonel Francis Beatty, Squirrel Lake, and Stallings Parks.

  • Update- Another Saturday Feb3 6pm the busiest I've seen this park. Pitch dark no public lighting working. As others have mentioned on the reviews lighting is not their strength. Park is often pitch dark after 6pm. Park closes at 7pm.*

Beautiful well maintained park. kudos to the staff and the community. However lighting after hours is almost non existent unless you are on the field at an event or field is reserved. It is often that parking lot lighting lights are off to the public for use and the beautiful playground next to the splashpad (and zip line)is super dark. In the winter it gets dark earlier. Yesterday it was 6 pm and no lighting anywhere. I wish they would consider leaving lights on until late like most parks in Charlotte. A timer, a smart switch, motion, and other solutions are a penny holding a dollar. 5 stars if they could add a public timer that the public could use to turn on the public lighting at the parking lot or similar - like you have in the facilities. Never understood why most parks in NC are pitch dark in...
