Crooked Creek Park, located near Indian Trail, is an absolute treasure that I am fortunate to have close to my house. This park offers a plethora of fantastic amenities that cater to both fitness enthusiasts and families alike.
One of the standout features of Crooked Creek Park is the impeccably maintained asphalt and rock paved walking paths. These paths prove to be a true blessing, especially during inclement weather when the ground becomes muddy. Regardless of the rain, I can enjoy a peaceful stroll or invigorating jog without worrying about my shoes getting soaked or caked in mud. The park's commitment to maintaining these paths is greatly appreciated and sets it apart from many other parks in the area.

Whether you prefer strength training exercises, cardiovascular activities, or a combination of both, this workout park has you covered. It's a great resource for fitness enthusiasts who enjoy outdoor workouts and want to enjoy the beauty of nature while staying fit.
Not forgetting the little ones, Crooked Creek Park also boasts an amazing kids park. The playground is thoughtfully designed, with age-appropriate structures and a safe environment for children to explore and have fun. From swings to slides and climbing structures, there are endless opportunities for kids to unleash their imagination and engage in active play. The park's commitment to providing a safe and enjoyable space for children is commendable, making it a favorite spot for families in the community.

Read moreBeautiful well maintained park. kudos to the staff and the community. However lighting after hours is almost non existent unless you are on the field at an event or field is reserved. It is often that parking lot lighting lights are off to the public for use and the beautiful playground next to the splashpad (and zip line)is super dark. In the winter it gets dark earlier. Yesterday it was 6 pm and no lighting anywhere. I wish they would consider leaving lights on until late like most parks in Charlotte. A timer, a smart switch, motion, and other solutions are a penny holding a dollar. 5 stars if they could add a public timer that the public could use to turn on the public lighting at the parking lot or similar - like you have in the facilities. Never understood why most parks in NC are pitch dark in...

The splashpad is a special treat with a shaded table seating area, several benches (some unshaded), and faux grass as well; fun for both kids & adults. The shaded playground is state of the art with a kid-friendly zipline, parent-child swing, music area, picinc tables, and for $2 you can purchase a cold beverage from a vending machine (that works!). Its fun for kids & adults. There's ample parking and you can reserve the play area and/or one of several picnic areas for an event. Onsite grills at each seated area (not sure about the playground site). There's corn-hole, ping pong, and other entertainment...just bring the bean bags, rackets, etc. There's ample free space for recreation. Highly recommend at least 1 visit. Conveniently located off I-485. Approx. 35 minutes from Concord Mills. Lodging, restaurants &...
