Beware the lady with glasses! ::KAREN ALERT::

I served as a DJ at a wedding at this location and they don’t like folks to wander within the mansion, which is understandable. A bunch of the bridal party and other vendors kept telling me how beautiful and wonderful it is inside and that I should go check it out. So I did while the photographers and groom were within the mansion. Also, I’m like the Only black body at this wedding besides my assistant DJ.

Welp, after getting clapped at and barked at by this white lady, I calmly held up a boundary and said I don’t like being clapped at and yelled at, she proceeded to tail me as if I was going to steal something. I kept my cool and then I lovely blonde woman in pink entered the mansion and I asked if she worked there and she said she did and proceeded to, with respect and cough, give me a tour and explain the restricted areas but encouraged me to take a peak anyway and was incredibly lovely. Now perhaps this blonde woman was the boss because the white lady with glasses tried to become somewhat more pleasant. Afterward, wedding guests and vendors who witnessed her behavior apologized to me outside and I don’t want to write this review, but it has been 3 weeks since the event and it still affects me.

It was a lovely mansion but if a client asks me to the do their wedding there again, I will decline the client due to my racial experience with some Karen in their employment. It’s nerve wracking enough to be the o my black guy out in the country as a vendor but I’m a human that is worthy of kindness and respect no...

DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE. The staff was rude and did not communicate the rules before the wedding. The bride was told everything had to be wrapped up by 7. The coordinator told us they were locking the house an hour and a half before the communicated time, leaving the bridal party to scramble to get everything out of the dressing room and the hall. The bride was on her hands and knees at one point cleaning flower petals off of the bridal suite floor. This was after the coordinator had yelled at her because the DJ hadn't stopped the music and the bartender hadn't stopped handing out drinks at 6:30. The bride should not be yelled at, ever. It would have been more appropriate to address the DJ and bartender directly. At 6:45, the coordinator threatened to have the police escort us out of the park at 7 if we all weren't in our cars with everything packed up by then. At that point, everyone was busting their butt to clean up the tent and pack the flowers and various things in cars to get them out. The coordinator was extremely unprofessional at the end of the reception, and should be given a warning about her uncouth behavior from...

I am writing this review because I just got off the phone with a woman who answered at the mansion at about 9:20am oct10th. I was calling because I am attending a wedding this weekend and it is outside at their tent and I figured instead of bothering the bride about attire I would gather a bit more information from the venue to inform some of the other guests. This woman was extremely short with me and responded with a “hunny, I do not know you need to contact the bride” response. It was quick and rude so I tried again and just said, I realize that you rent the space out, but was wondering since you have these events weekly if there are typically heat lamps or what should I be expecting as I didn’t want to bother the bride. All I was wanting was some general information, and she said “we just rent the space you need to contact the bride, goodbye.”

This type of customer service was not positive nor kind. I was offended by her demeanor and for such a beautiful venue I would hope they do not treat other people the same way. As far as she knows I am a potential customer in the future for an event and she was incredibly...

This Hartwood Acres Mansion Park is very large and spacious. Upon entering the park, there are large sculptures displayed separately, each on a large grassy area. The sculptures are in geometrical shape. It was raining when I arrived, and there were no one there. I parked in the Mansion Tour parking lot and took the path that lead me to the HUGE mansion. To the left of the path is the garden. The mansion beautiful. At the other end of the mansion is where the fully functional men's and women's restrooms are. Because it was raining and some area of the grounds was very wet and muddy, I didn't try to find my way into the garden, which was fenced in with black iron fencing. I love that this park is dogfriendly. It has so many area to explore.

By far, my favorite park in Pittsburgh. There are miles of unpaved trails to mountain bike or hike on as well as a perfectly paved road connecting the Mansion side of the park to the Concert/Stage side of the park for easy bike riding and walking or running. It's also the most perfect spot for a wedding celebration. I absolutely love photographing in this incredibly special and intimate location.

I absolutely adore Hartwood Acres Mansion! The staff is so incredibly kind, the grounds are always well-kept and clean. The garden is immaculate, too! They have lots of tours and the park as a whole is dog friendly. I would highly recommend it! As a photographer, I love that this location is open to the public for photo sessions. It is such a beautiful location for photos!
