It is a magical place when azaleas are blooming. Very much worth visiting. However, if coming from the north on I69 do NOT follow Google maps directions for the last bit of the route. Once you are on SR 65, do not turn left on Co. Rd 775 (this leads you to Rd 150N that is a very steep gravel road, barely passable in a passenger car). Instead stay on SR 65 and then turn left on Co. Rd 825. The gardens are on that road, on the left. There is a sign for the gardens on the corner of SR 65 and Co. Rd 825.

It was our first time visiting and it was nothing short of spectacular. We did go on Mother’s Day so a little busy, had to watch for cars along some of the main paths but overall a wonderful experience. Several places to sit and rest and relax and take in the views. Also a good truck and wine slushees available. We enjoyed water under a shady porch while watching the large koi in the big lake.

This place looks beautiful, but the management and owner’s behavior and actions towards my family were appalling. My nieces and nephew (ages 3-8 years old) were yelled at by the owner shortly after arrival for unknowingly and accidentally running through a flower bed that had no viable signs of foliage or blossoms, no indication sign, it was not marked off, and there were no visible paths to follow. These children were being supervised appropriately (adults were unaware the area was a flower bed either due to the reasons above). These children are always well mannered, respectful, and behaved. Regardless of their mistake they should have never been approached in this manner or talked to the way they were by the owner. Once their mother stepped in, they were told by the owner "that he needs to put up signs for parents to leash their children"! To further the terrible experience, they had at the facility they were then harassed, belittled, insulted, and argued with on the poor review they had given them on FB. The owner’s daughter manages the FB page and was rude, argumentative, and defended her parents’ actions with no apology or accountability for what had happened. Another family member then began to comment and agreed with how the situation was handled and even suggested to find backpacks with leashes for the children. This angered me and my family members further and we continued to write bad reviews to their page due to the situation that occurred at Azalea as well as the comments, accusations, insults, and harassment that was done on the FB post. I made a review pointing out how awful this situation was handled and how their actions and words were inexcusable only to be met with more arguing. She admitted that the area was not marked off and no path was visible but insisted that these new guests should know not to be there because it’s the "rules". She also stated that an apology was given when there never was. My review was then reported/deleted, and I was blocked for my constructive criticism (I want to side note that all comments I made in the post were civil and factual. I kept addressing the way the situation is/was being handled and how they continue to make it worse with their behavior online causing more backlash for themselves and their business).

In summary this entire bad experience could have been avoided with professionalism, understanding, and respect shown to their visiting customers. After the fact the situation could have been handled with acknowledgment of their accountability and wrongful actions along with an apology. None of which happened.

Still no apology...

What do you mean you haven't been to Azalea Path? It's worth a trip even if the azaleas are not in bloom. We made it there on Memorial Day, 2021, because it was the only day we'd had off in weeks. Though we weren't looking forward to a road trip we were very much rewarded.

After stopping at a covered bridge along the way we found ourselves on country roads so narrow we feared oncoming traffic a wee bit. It was $5 per person to get in and parking was plentiful and very accessible. For those of you with loved ones with mobility issues you need not fear. The paths could be more clearly marked as they segue from gravel to mulch and we had a few false leads along the way. Thankfully it's not a large area and we had a map (provided at the entrance).

The place definitely has a Japanese influence with its many delicately trimmed maples and thinly spaced pines. There are lovely chairs and benches where one might take in the views and rest along the way. There are also a lovely swing, a stone arch, and bits of sculpture set about in clever ways. The waterfall is just stunning! What did it for our sons, though, was the wildlife. The koi, panfish, bass, and even the interesting varieties of insects kept them rapt.

There are bathrooms there and in adequate condition. A bar with patio rounds things out. Keep in mind- it is (obviously) 21 and over ONLY and you're not going to be sitting out on the deck having a panini and sipping a diet Coke. I did find myself wishing for a small kitchen with a few offerings. I think such an arrangement would complete the experience and make it more of a destination.

All that being said it really is a destination in and of itself. A thing of beauty shared with us by the very generous family who lives there. Azalea Path will remind you that southern Indiana is not just thousands of acres of corn....

My husband and I chose to elope and had gone here for wedding photos. We did research or tried to but they don’t have a website only a Facebook. We drove 47 minutes to this place. We got a text from our photographer saying she had had some issues with the staff that was speaking to her. She ended up leaving because she felt so attacked. Upon arrive we spoke with who I believe is the owner and he was not helpful whatsoever. Very rude from the start and made a lot of unnecessary comments directed towards our photographer. The issue seemed to be a $20 photography fee. It’s not listed anywhere on their facebook. We didn’t have the issue paying the $20. He cut me off serval times after trying to figure out what the problem was and tried to tell another staff member we just didn’t want to pay. The man didn’t seem to have any valid answers. He was irritated and didn’t want to take the time to explain anything we were asking questions about. We could have gone somewhere closer to home and that was free but chose to take a chance on this place. The property looked beautiful and I’m disappointed in the way we were treated. We will not be giving our business or...
