This is such a cute nature park. My family found this hidden gem and we're so glad that we did. It's never packed; which is a plus for us. I don't want everyone to find out about this place; but I just can't gate keep this one.
It has a nice and clean set of bathrooms at the entrance, beside the parking lot with picnic tables.
There are trash cans throughout the whole park. They have bags for you to use if your bring your dog/s. It's a VERY clean park. I am so pleased with this community for taking pride in keeping it kept up with. It starts with us. If everyone works together and keeps up with their own, it will stay beautiful.
There are also boards that direct you on your walk, throughout.
There are quite a few different trails to travel on; Each of them being different miles. All flat terrain.
The only thing that I dislike is when you get to certain parts, there is no gravel; just grass. They do have snakes in this park, so you really have to pay attention; Especially when going through the grass. Also, when it has rained, it gets pretty muddy. I really wish that they would gravel the whole entire trail. That would be awesome!
They have a nice sized catch and release pond, also.
Overall, this park is great! Happy trails!

Read moreLove this little park, but im pretty sure its haunted, and its now lost two stars for removing my favorite picnic tables along the trail to stretch and rest on while running the main loop. Jerks. Jk they need to pick up the trash of their previous kiosk in the park and remove the homeless dudes former shelter. Its been over two years now, like cmon man.
Frequently see deer running around or staring at me, and the squirrels jump out of bushes often. I dont bird watch but theres prolly birds. Definitely avoid running here during the evening in summer as the horse/deer flies on the oak trail are out of freaking control. Chased by the same damn fly for over a mile at a 7:00/mi pace, if thats your thing then by all means go ahead. Did help me set a new PR though so...
Read moreAmazing nature park, with an awesome variety of walking paths to fit different individuals needs! My only issue is the over growth of slime/weeds in the lake, and lack of places to fish from. Please make more places to access the lake. I love the atmosphere there, and have spent time here after my mom died. It's a very good place to think, get away for a bit, or have a family outing! If the lake was slightly better, I would give 5 stars! Update-the lake slime/weed growth is being taken care of! 5 stars! *I'd like to add, if you follow Hendricks County Parks on FB, you'll find amazing events held at Sodalis!!! Edible plants, indigenous plant sales in the Spring, painting, hikes that point out different animal tracks, way too many cool things to list! Go...
