DIRECTIONS Heading north on st Joseph ave, turn approximately 1 intersection before the light at ST Joseph ave and Mill Road. If you pass the COOP gas station on your right you've went too far. 🚻RESTROOMS ENTERING PARK Handicapped equipment restrooms located on right. Soccer field area that include small playground with few picnic tables. A fishable lake with few benches (wooden) are surrounding the half walkable lake. Quiet area, needs minimual cleanup. Safe police officer presence regular patrols by vanderburgh sheriff's office, training a couple times a year. Fishing After walking small path, crossable newly constructed wide wooden bridge. Great 📷 opprotunity!!! Fishing this half walkable lake, overgrowth minimual. Fish are smaller not many if any are keepable. Winds highly affect your experience here. The lake is located to the south of the entrance. You will find that you are facing the lake upon entry. Winds can and tend to come in several directions. The lake has completely open very little trees coverage half, fully wooded on one side. Full lake with half moon shape that's fishable. We found you fight the winds, visitor's and walking the lake itself is and can be difficult. Pet Friendly Lot's of Space for running. Read moreUsed to go here for walks, quite often. Now, it's overgrown with sticker bushes, and because of horrible trash can placement, there is trash everywhere. That's also due to poor choices by people. But, at any park I go to, it seems all the trash cans are dropped in one place. It's a shame there isn't more oversight for our parks.
Update: Not as overgrown anymore, so it is more walkable. However, the trash is getting worse. There's also a ridiculous amount of fishing line, lures, hooks, and bait containers spread about. Read moreMoutoux park is a park that a lot of people don't know about. It is at the far north west end of town. There is not many houses or business around. The park is way off the road. It has a nice playground with a shelter nearby that has picnic tables and shade. It has a very large gorgeous lake. You can walk all the way around it. People are usually there fishing and they have nice sturdy benches scattered around.
