This was the second hike of the day also in Indiana at the St. Patrick’s Park which runs along the St Joseph River. It is also part of the #chikamingopenlands #10trail challenge. This is a very multi purpose park with everything from hiking trails, kids play areas, pavilions, a disc golf course, and on the way out I noticed that there is a birdwatching trail system near the entrance. Hiking trails are well marked and a variety of packed dirt, mowed grass, and wooden bridges. This is definitely kid friendly, dog on leash friendly there’s a multitude of parking areas as the park is very large, there is an entrance fee to get into the park if you don’t have a yearly pass but I would say it’s well worth the cost of admittance. Interesting side fact about this park is if you start at Madeline Bertrand in Michigan and walk along the river trail you will connect into this trail system.

If your looking for spring summer fall winter all seasons FUN doesnt matter this place is where you wanna go. You have many choices for activities sledding, hiking, trails, parks, volleyball, picnics, playground equipment, canoe rental, kite flying, dog walking, wildlife viewing, just lots of fun and outdoor activities to get away from electronics. The entry for out of state is cheap like 4 in county $5 out county. I've even attended concert at this location that was great. If you havent visited and you live close by go soon. They also rent alot of the buildings on site. many of them for decent pricing definitely need checkout for fun family activity you can get a brochure. Were renting the cabin for a weekend in woods locally and easily access for family and friends to BBq and enjoy the outdoors this summer.

From rustic barns to riverside trails, and the river ramble play area (very unique, hands on park for adults and kids alike to hang out and explore!), St Pat’s County Park has something fun for everyone!! In particular the barns were super cute for some artsy shots with friends and to walk around and enjoy the pretty flowers. The hiking trails are very pleasant and even get a little hilly as you approach Bertrand Park. They are admittedly not well marked—I wandered from St Pats into Bertrand park (technically in Michigan) without even knowing it. I loved all the greenery and flowers blooming all over during the spring. Definitely visit this park, it’s so lovely!

Great barn playground, river ramble play area, and eating area. The compost bathroom did not even smell bad! Pretty trees and flowers. Large parking lot. Barn playground: swings for younger and older kids, big slides, tunnels, and fairly new equipment. No sand! River ramble: a sand area with a water channel that is filled by an operable water trough. The kids play with all the wet sand at the bottom, digging their own channels, etc. There are also some hammocks and other 'natural' climbing/rambling areas. Eating area: 3-4 benches under shade Compost bathroom: like a port-a-potty but more spacious and it did not smell bad.

An absolutely beautiful place on the Indiana, Michigan border. There are countless walking and hiking trails, many of them alongside the river. There are volleyball courts, picnic areas, places to fish with easy river access. There are conventional playground areas for kids, as well as a natural playground. There are old apple orchards, barns and grapevines. You can rent canoes during the summer season as well.
