I got a chance to visit the T.C. Steele state historic site at the end of last summer. I took the tour and saw and heard some very fascinating things about Mr. and Mrs. Steele... their life's work, art and garden. Before I left I walked through the historical garden....WOW!!! It is simply one of the most amazing historical gardens I've ever seen in my life... the scenery is simply beautiful!! It shows the great deal of time and effort that went into planning and executing so that the garden can be awakened from the time when Mr. and Mrs. Steele called this beautiful sanctuary their home. I got a chance to talk to Mr. Anthony Joslin who restored this beautiful garden. I could feel the love, passion and pride with his work... it brought great joy to my heart to have such amazing people out there giving back to the community this way. I want to thank you Mr. Joslin for all your hard work, determination so that people can find great joy in this amazing garden for generation to come!

I also want to thank the entire staff for this beautiful historical site, keep up the great work!! Looking forward to be back next...

Beautiful place but we went for the Ghost Story night. Very disappointed. It was supposed to be scary ghost stories and it wasn't scary at all. It should have just been advertised as Story Teller Night or something, because the story tellers were good, but when you go expecting scary ghost stories and they're not scary at all it's very disappointing. When we asked people if they had been to Ghost Story night before everyone said no, which now doesn't surprise me as people who went previously had been disappointed also and didn't come back again.

People there were very nice, place is beautiful, but we just wish they hadn't advertised it as Ghost Stories and acted like it was going to be scary stories because they weren't...

We discovered this site while exploring Nashville for the weekend, drawn by our membership with the Indiana State Museum. It's truly an impressive property. The guided tour was exceptional, and the visitor center stands out as one of the finest buildings in the area.

For anyone planning a visit, ensure you sign up for the tour in advance to avoid disappointment with access to the buildings. Sadly, we witnessed two families leave disappointed due to this requirement. It's a missed opportunity not to be more accommodating to spontaneous visitors.

However, if you're fortunate enough to join a tour, the experience is enriching, thanks to the highly knowledgeable staff. We're grateful we made the effort to include this visit in...

I came here early on a Saturday morning and Greg offered to take me on a tour even though I was 30 minutes late (or early) for the scheduled tours. He took me through the grounds and shared a veritable fount of knowledge about the Steeles, their home, and how they helped revitalize the area. I learned so much, and was thoroughly charmed by the art and the grounds. Although I've frequented Brown County for years, I had never visited because it seemed off the beaten path. The ticket was $10, and I was worried that it wouldn't live up to the price, but I definitely felt like I got my money's worth and more. The staff and the art ensured that. Go, it's such a delight.

What a gem! Watch the documentary before arriving and be sure to take the guided tour. This place connects art, history, beauty, nature and deep personal affection altogether. Take your time while visiting. Each season offers something unique. There is an “art out” here each year and you can buy originals from IHA artists. You can often see students sketching and painting on the grounds. On-site staff is very dedicated. #tcsteele #browncounty

We made a visit to the T.C. Steele site to see the grounds. We were there after the first tour was scheduled but the docent was kind enough to give us a quick tour of the house and main studio. Beautifully kept home and grounds. There was a four minute introductory film in the new visitor's center to start the visit. The gardens are lovely and so many varieties of flowers. Five hiking trails on the property. Was a pleasant outing.
