This trail is the best trail in the Richmond area. It’s mostly shaded and follows the whitewater river through lush forested territory. Many fish off the trail or access the river shore and enjoy some peace and quiet!
Springtime is full of honeysuckle and wildlife encounters like deer, possum and baby raccoons!
Summer sees wild strawberries and damselflies!
Fall is full of autumn forest colors
Winter - the trail is cleared but the shady conditions and trees with snowfall can create icy patches. Lovely but a little slippery be cautious
Go! Walk the full trail past the uphill dirt section to the bridge that crosses the River and you’ll reach the historical recording studio with mosaic portraits of influential jazz musicians on the path. Very cool space!

Wonderful place for a nature hike without going too far out of the way. Highly recommend this place for leisure walks, meditation or just a break. Also a nice location to sit and have lunch in peace.
