Walking Trails and Cycling, Dog Park, Ornithology area (Birds). A lot of people that visit this park don't go to all the areas for their family outings. Visitors all go to the marina, so it gets super packed, not enough parking, loud with conflicting music, dogs barking and fighting. People don't pickup after themselves, so this area shows the overuse and hard for the staff to keep up with bathrooms and trash. Tip: Bring you own trash bags, take it with you when you leave. Be a part of a solution for this problem. Since this area parking is not sufficient, it makes it super difficult if you are just trying to launch you own kayak or canoe. You have to carry your vessel to a very small area. Down a very narrow steep hill to get to the water. Solution: I have found there is and easier area to launch your personal vessels just left of the Beach area next to the new docks for fishing. The space is flat with ample room to launch. The beach and playground are has a big parking area with lots of BBQ areas. Bathrooms are pretty bad, but there are porta potties in the area. If you want some peace and quite visit the Lilly Lake and Shelters side of the park. There are some ares better that others. Some of the picnic tables are in need of repair. Just bring some folding chairs for more options. All the trails are well marked and established. The bike lanes are ample and nice for cyclers.
