THIS IS NOT AN OFF-LEASH DOG SPOT!!! It is clearly stated in the front of the park you MUST have your dogs on leash. We have always kept our dog on-leash, even tho they are usually friendly, and there are many irresponsible owners at this park that allow their untrained dogs off-leash with no regard to others. An untrained dog ran up to me and my two dogs from over 100ft away, with no regards to its owners recall. Our dogs were in a perfect sit, and did not engage until the dog reached him and started jumping on him. The owner then attempted to pick a fight over his dog being off leash, when again it is clearly posted at the front of the park they must be restrained. It doesn’t matter how friendly your dog is, have respect for other people trying to enjoy nature with their pups. THIS IS NOT A DOG PARK!!!! This is not just courtesy, or a rule, it is also THE LAW! Will not be returning back, something...
Read moreThis so far is my favorite park in indy. It's very stunning and flows like you are going hiking within your own city. I enjoy the natural stairs that have been implemented but even more so i love the flowing water that lives on the top of the hill after you climb it. Almost as if you have been rewarded for your short journey. Sometimes if you catch it after it rains, there is flowing water throughtout the whole park. By the higher river, i like to do my meditation there. It's perfect with the flowing water and fallen trees that you can rest on. Not many come to this park at the same time, so it never feels over crowded and the pollution is very low. I'd come to this if you would like some peaceful alone time. Or if you want to bring a group of friends or your dog. However you come, you...
Read moreI go here all the time. Lots of little trails and runs along the monon. Many dog owners go here regularly so it's a good place to meet new dog friends. Many like to go into the creek for a swim to. The parking on college gets you to the first section of the park, where the most elevation changes are, which can make for a challenging circuit if you go at a fast past. There's also an open field by the parking as well as a shelter, picnic tables, and trash cans. The parking on 75th connects to the monon and 2nd section of Marrot Park. You can go across the river via the monon to get to a third section of Marrot. The scenery and trails throughout are pretty great. If you head down the monon South you'll hit broad ripple and a lot of foot...
