The short answer:

If you haven't been to Paul roster you should definitely visit. It's great for events like birthdays or just getting the family together for a grill out in the sun. Has all the amenities you could hope for such as sheltered seating, grills that are fairly new, at the shelter there is a very large one next to a somewhat medium-sized one, in great shape. There's a fairly large pond that has bass bluegill and very large carp, often very visible on the east side of the bank sunbathing I guess. Just east of that on the trail is a medium-sized River often fished for smallmouth bass. The trails are rather extensive, and fairly well maintained, with all the views you could expect in a highly forested area. The trail mostly follows a river often on very high vantage points looking down. There's a good size green grassy field perfect to lay in or it has a single large tree to the west side that is ideal for sitting under or and reading. Recently they also have a prairieland area several acres with a mowed wide trail going the distance of the east side of the field. It's great in the summer for wild flowers, they're everywhere. I often pick a bouquet for my wife. Other than that there's a spot or two out in the open part of the park that's mostly open field, sparsely dotted with trees. A new and what I would assume is a four or five star dog park. The main event I would say is the very tall Hill. Appears to be made for sledding it's very high with a rather steep sledding side. Always went there as a kid. The hill is very fast in the snow and often you're inertia would carry you almost to the tree line which is very far away. It even has a decent security element, not that I can think of any reason it's needed, I have lived very near and still live close to this park, and I've never seen or heard of anything criminal happening being there. But the security exists nonetheless, which is simply a police officer more often than not sitting in the parking lot doing paperwork, more recently accompanied by a motion sensor tracking camera that often follows people as they walk by situated at the entrance of the dog park. In summary it's a great Park and I meet there weekly under the shelter. And it's sparsely populated (the entire park) and the shelter that I can meet with her and not be concerned about privacy or confidentiality. I love this park! It's beautiful and...

So many good times here. Over the course of 10 years, I went dozens of times and never got bored with it. There's a longish driveway leading to a decent size parking lot. Right there is a huge hill that gets packed in the winters for sleds, but is popular any day of the year. At the bottom is a huge flat area, before the trees at the start if the woods. Multiple, multiple groups could be doing things at the base of the hill without getting into each other's way. There's an even bigger flat area where people larp every weekend. Pretty interesting spectacle, one I would recommend. The forest is nice size with several trails going throughout, sometimes disconnecting just to meet up again later. There's a creek that is getting lower every year due to the climate changing. This feeds the pond that used to be several feet higher. The pond itself is near the hill, just a short trek through the woods. This path is wide open with plenty of shade and is a nice area. The pond has been getting shallower for a while now. It likely will one day be gone but I hope they learn to manage natural resources better to...

This park is very nice until my daughter got chased and attacked by a dog. My son football team had a bbq at Paul Rusty park. We all noticed there was a few dogs with there owner in the fence running around. The kids was playing of the play ground. I told my 6 year old daughter to check in periodically to make sure she's ok. So one of her check ins she was walking over to the shelter when the owner came out the fence and didn't close it back, her dog that was bigger then my daughter chased my daughter. The entire football coach had to get the dog off my daughter. We were devastated. The owner only said sorry when my husband when to talk to her. Almost as if she didn't care about her dog attacking...

Wonderful park with a good amount of things to do! They have a very scenic hiking trail, a fishing pond, dog park, a pretty old school playground, a massive hill I bet would be a blast sledding down, and plenty of great spots for picnics. However, it does flood and get muddy if it’s been raining a bit. The trails are not paved, so prepare to get wet. The more I explore this park, the more things I discover. I found a very small trail (almost completely unnoticeable) leading straight to a hidden cemetery! So cool!

It's a beautiful park with hidden trails and plenty of acres. However, I've encountered 3 unleashed dogs in the past week. They have a separate dog park here and if you want your dog unleashed, do so in the dog park. But in the open field and the wooded trails, it should be common sense (and the law) to have your dog leashed. Otherwise, when your unleashed dog approaches my leashed dog from behind and startles him, I'm not responsible for any injuries that may occur to your dog that has a negligent owner πŸ™ƒ

The park itself is very small with no trails, but there is a reasonable sized playground, two dog parks (with an agility course!). There are also a number of places for a picnic/party. One large shelter next to the parking lot One group of tables sheltered by trees And one small shelter hidden in the woods by the lake that could accommodate maybe 10-12 people. There is also a large, open field at the bottom of an embankment that allows plenty of room to run around.
