This is a wonderful park with lots of area to enjoy. They are doing demolition on the pool right now so its a little noisy at times and there is a chunk of park fenced off around that area. There is a large tree with lots of burls on it that started a friendly argument between me and my wife. I think it looks like a bear cub hugging the tree. My wife thinks it looks like a dogs head. I definitely enjoy this park again.

When it isn't flooded (see photo), it's a great park. Especially for bike rides. There's this spot in the Northeast end of the park where there's a loop of bike trail that you can turn around and head back on the path without stopping. Or be like me and ride in circles as fast as you can. Fun for adults and children alike, highly recommend.

Amazing park in Iowa city, with a lot of options: theater, playground, pic nic, barbecue, fishing, boat, swimming pool, running... With a lot of parking spaces, public restroom. There is a spot where you can park and find a place to fish or dock your boat. Definitely a good park to spend good time with your family, kids and friends!

The grass is usually kept well, and there is a playground in the middle city park area near the tennis courts. There is a pool in the upper city park, multiple little picnic areas to enjoy parties, and a bike path near the river. There are tennis courts and little league baseball fields in the lower park area. Also, there is an outdoor theatre that hosts plays in the summertime. There is plenty of tree shade, but also open areas to enjoy the sun. We come here to enjoy the weather on nice days with my 4 - and 7 year old! A great place to enjoy a picnic, kick a soccer ball, play catch, fly a kite, or throw a frisbee. A sure way to enjoy a day without...

Needs major improvement. We were there for a softball tournament last weekend and the facilities were horrible. The bathrooms need to be updated to be more handicap accessible. We had a hard time getting the wheelchair through the door and the stalls were not big enough to accommodate a wheelchair. The concession stand was literally a guy at a table selling hamburgers and hotdogs with stale buns for $3.00. If they are going to have a tournament then they should be better prepared. We went to Coralville the next day and it was like a 5 star resort compared to this place. Very disappointed with the...

Iowa city's City Park is absolutely beautiful. It holds a pool (which was not open when we visited but I assume is open to the public at certain times), multiple park playing areas for children, and trails to walk dogs. The grounds are kept immaculately clean, and there is a lot of field space for sports. This park also sports multiple parking lots in different areas so everyone won't be crowding one check point when it's...
