Central Park — Attraction in Iowa

I have returned to Central Park because it has a nice swimming area for my grandchildren. As a kayaking beginner, I appreciated the smooth surface of the small lake. Great showers. The busy RV area is not my style (we have a self-contained DIY ambulance camper), so we chose one of the lovely primitive spots for $12 a night. Ours was site 42, spacious and surrounded on three sides by woods. We felt quite safe and enjoyed meeting Paul, who is work camping here and comes from a family of eucher players. Our quiet walks took us to a small arm of the lake. Central Park is a watershed project near Anamosa, Iowa, and summer flowers were blooming. My wife and I plus kids decided to go camping at central park this weekend. We have been tent camping for 4 to 5 years there previous to that. There do not reserve camping sites on line there. So we read the rules on line and nothing states you can not put a tent on your campsute until you bring a camper down. My wife went there and set up a tent and paid for all the nights there. Thrusday Friday Saturday. I brought down my camper afterwork and my tent was gone and my site was taken by someone else. So apparently it say it on the envelope that you cant set up tent and leave and pay for the site. They did not give me my money back either. 75 dollars we paid to them. Talk about a kick in the a.. Central park is currently under going a major restoration so the main lake is unusable. The will be a fully redone beach and swimming area a new handicap accessable dock and new boat ramp. Fish on the main lake should be amazing in 3-4 years. Right now there is a large pond for fishing canoeing and kayaking. There is also several miles of trials and prairies and nature center will many exhibits.
