This place was our first stay in an RV. It was set perfectly right next to the mighty Mississippi. I'm giving this four stars because it provided everything it said it would. The staff was very friendly, especially for us as first timers. The views were awesome, very family oriented, pet friendly, and the other visitors were all very nice. We even helped the rangers find owners of a couple missing dogs. The only negative about this location is the train tracks 40 yards away. The trains that go through there LOVE to test out their horns. They go through at Midnight, 5:30 in the morning, all day, all evening. You do get used to it after a couple days but that first night was rough. If trains don't bother you than I definitely...

Again, this is another Core Of Engineer's hidden gem. Right on the Mississippi River with a viewing or perhaps fishing platform. The sites are well shaded and mostly covered with trimmed grass. For tenters, there is potable water but only vault toilets. Our stie had electricity but the 110 volt outlet appeared to be fake with the entry holes for the prongs seemingly blocked by metal. The only real drawback is its closeness to the railroad tracks. Every train that comes through is on the whistle! Still...

It would be a 5 star but. It is a Corp of Engineers campground and the facility is 5 star. Paved roads and well laid out sites.

The but is noise. The trains are bad enough but the other campers the night we were there were just as bad. One camper was playing loud music until midnight. Others had a bazillion lights on. They brought the city to a campground. While they may have had a good time, for those of looking for a respite from city life, not so much.

Next time I'll try a...

COE park at its best! Very well cared for RV Park along the edge of the Mighty Mississippi. Helpful staff and Ranger, very clean bath house and restrooms. Electric only, but plenty of community water spigots to grab what you need.

Wonderful! Concrete slabs, wide sites, right by the Mississippi River. Beautiful green common areas. Big trees. Huge, clean private bathrooms with showers. Only downside was the close train tracks.
