Clearest water that I've Seen in any Iowa Lake! There's a swim area, and boats/kayacks ARE allowed! Saw Bass,Blue gill, Catfish, and a VERY large Gar in the water. It was definitely a lot tougher to fish than the farm ponds I'm used too lol, but once you find a pattern that works you start hammering them! Wonderful gem of a park for southeast iowa. Old rock quary, so the water is much clearer then most of the lakes in this region. The swimming beach is nice and large, make sure to bring some sort of shoes on a warm day as the walk on the sand is quite long and it can get very hot.

Absolutely beautiful. Can find a wide variety of wildlife around the trail and the water is clearer than any other place I've found around here.
