I passed this place on my way up to Minnesota for work and my nose started twitching, but I had to lay off at that point; however, after hitting Mystic Lake and their vast expanse of no real table games, I decided to check this one out last night and made about a 90-minute trip. I was not disappointed in the least, and although I ran into a few snags here and there it was a good night! They did indeed have a craps table, and when I first walked up and got my chips they asked me if I had a player card; I initially said no, but then I noticed the chips had the Boyd logo and realized I WAS in that club from another casino... LOL My card wasn't working with their system, but they printed a new one for me while I played; my initial stake of $60 disappeared rather quickly (not their fault, that's just how the dice fall sometimes), so I hit the ATM for reinforcements. Unfortunately, those chips weren't doing much better, and there was a point where I had all my remaining money on the table; I did start coming back up, but then they announced that they were closing the table for the night.
I saw they had an electronic craps station with actual dice (kinda reminded me of the Trouble board game with the dice in a glass tube), which made me a bit leery; I got financially burned pretty badly by one of these elsewhere, but I still wanted to play so I tried it out against my better judgment. This time around, it was a damn good call; I ended up nearly $100 ahead of where I started the night, but when I went to cash out and take a break the machine wouldn't spit out a ticket. I hit the call attendant button a few times, but nobody was coming for several minutes; I finally had to flag an employee down to assist me and they eventually got me sorted out, but then the ticket wasn't working in the redemption machine! One trip to the cashier put the cash in my hand, though, and after a quick walk to the car I returned for more. My luck started going a bit funky then, but it ultimately righted itself; I walked out with nearly $200 more than I came in with around 5AM, so it was well worth the drive!
I'll admit, I almost dropped a star due to the technical malfunctions, especially because the staff wasn't responding to the call button; it was a small stain on an otherwise awesome night, though, and the situation was ultimately resolved to my satisfaction so I can forgive it. I still have a dollar chip from here by accident, but if I find myself back in this area it gives me a reason to return, not that...
Read moreI am truly very upset with my experience at your casino this past weekend. A few of my friends and I decided to come down for the weekend, as I have only been there a time or two in the past. Friday was fine, Saturday not so much. Saturday we were gambling all afternoon, we had a few cocktails, were sitting by the bar listening to the band, I went to put my phone in my hotel room because it was dead, and upon my return , the man at the front gate wouldn’t let me in. He asked me how many beverages I had, I told him four, as that was the truth. I WAS SOBER! He proceeded to tell me that my eyes were red and that I was intoxicated so he wouldn’t let me back in. And then was calling security over to assist him. I actually thought he was kidding at first. I mean, my eyes are always red – I work 60-70 hours a week, and wear contacts. There are many reasons a person’s eyes may be red; allergies, smoke (as it IS a casino), contacts, dry, tired, etc. I then went upstairs so I could call my friends as they were still in the bar area. They met me at the OTHER entrance (yes, I know this was wrong but I was livid and I’m sorry, the man at the front gate should have called a manager as I requested). And then FOUR security guards surrounded our table and kicked me out AGAIN. I proceeded to ask them for a manager, someone above their heads to speak with, to no avail. So in all honesty I think you need to reassess your “guidelines” on letting someone enter your establishment. I don’t think that “red eyes” is a reason to deny entry. And if you are just going to kick people out for having a few beverages maybe you should re-think the bar. I mean I would have totally understood if I was belligerent, or slurring my words, or even falling over. However, I was none of those things, just enjoying girl’s night. It’s unfortunate that this happened because I can’t think of a reason that I would ever come back after the way that I was treated, and we have handed in our player’s cards. Not interested in giving establishment money only to be humiliated without a chance to defend myself or get a second opinion. And to make matters worse, I have heard 3 other stories from other people and friends that this has happened to them. I have seen a few reviews also. Word of mouth is a terrible thing. I will not hesitate to tell someone of my experience in hopes that it doesn’t happen to someone else. I just hope that someone there sees the error and fixes it before you lose any...
Read moreThis post is for Wood fire Grill !!!! If I could post —10000000 I would give tonight for the lack of !!! Poor, unkind, and very lazy and disrespectful greeting I received from the hostess at the entry door…. First I had to wait close to 5 minutes while she was talking to the casino hostess and not being recognized or even acknowledged. I interrupted and said I wanted to go to bar and shortly responded she said wait a minute. I should have left thinking of this is how 1st time customers were received. Unkindly she walked me to the bar and seated me. Very unhappy .. 2 cocktails later she interrupted me as I was talking to another patron and said referring to my coat I had place on the empty stool next to me that she had customers waiting to be seated and could I remove my coat ? Not, can you please ? Would you please place on another seat or at my backrest on chair which I was sitting !!! No just, move your coat !!! After another cocktail, appetizers of shrimp and Pork belly which were both fantastic as well as service from bartenders entire time…. Female bartender which was coincidentally a manager.. After leaving I stopped to redeem hostess which she was not interested one but with such inappropriate language and behavior. I then asked to speak to a manager, the bartender who came to me and diligently apologized. With appreciation I told her of unhappy treatment and again apologized…. After this upon leaving I related my unhappy treatment and said I would respond to the Casino manager which she replied she will tell him as well… I didn’t gamble after with unhappy treatment given tonight….. I WONT BE BACK AND DEFINITELY WILL TELL OTHERS OF MY POOR TREATMENT AT WOOD FIRE GRILL AT DIAMOND CASINO 👍🏽
