Driftless Area Education & Visitors Center — Attraction in Iowa

Awesome but we almost missed it it's the beautiful building. And when we are getting in our car eagle came flying right overhead awesome. Lots of touchable interactive things from looking inside of a live beehive to all kinds of furs you can touch on a topical map you can walk through. I enjoyed it as an adult and imagine a child would too. I visited Lansing, where I lived for 19 years. I visited Lansing last month. I toured the Drifters museum and was really impressed with this beautiful place, located on one of the most beautiful curve's on the main Channel of the Mississippi River. A building full of history of the area and the river.

It is worth a trip to Northern Iowa to visit one of the most beautiful sites in that area. While in Lansing I would suggest you make a visit to Horsfalls in Downtown Lansing on Main Street. A kinda of Variety Store you don't see any more. You...

The website does not give this place any justice, as it doesn't explain all that it has to offer. It was a Wonderful museum about the area and the Mississippi River. This is a must stop if you have children of any age b/c there are a ton of hands on exhibits here and live animals to watch. My child particularly loved the chance to pilot a barge and to feel all the different types of animal furs. The views of the river are beautiful from the deck as well. The staff was very informative.
