Read moreI would like to relate a story about 'The Little Brown Church in the Vale" When I was in grade school (1940's) I remember singing this song. and then the years went by and I was in high school in Southern Illinois and was a member of the "Sea Scouts"(Boy Scouts but wore Naval Uniforms) On Saturday afternoon before Easter Sunday we would load up and go to Alto Pass, Illinois where "Bald Knob" is located (highest point in Southern Illinois and in the Foothills of the Ozark Mountains) and it was our job to direct traffic to line up the automobiles. My kids ages 7, 5, 4, and 18 months had a wonderful time, as well as myself and my mother. Also, very good bathrooms and simple...
