Motor Mill Historic Site — Attraction in Iowa

We were just driving along and saw a brown sign. Took the road and came across this very cool gem of a site. We were there on Sept.24. So it wasn't open. But still very interesting to read the signs and admire the amazing stone buildings. The bridge story is very interesting also. Like other reviewers - simply stumbled upon the Motor Mill (was the pullout point for our kayak trip) and were so pleasantly suprised. They just finished their remodel of the Inn and the museum in the Mill building. Interesting history on a very pretty spot. I am nervous that frequent flooding is going to make it a tricky spot, but I am excited to see it in a few years. Would be a great spot for a wedding or other event. Hope they get...

An historical site that is being restored. This is an interesting site that is a work in progress with volunteers doing most of the work.
