Was here as a stop a winery tour of several wineries of the area. The location was beautiful and seemed to be a very entertaining venue. Our experience was ruined when we arrived, the bartender at the main entrance in the front yelled at our tour guide to move his bus. Although I understand they were busy and maybe it was not the place for the bus, I spoke to the guide afterwards and asked if he had rapport with the establishment and he said he had been bringing people there for 15 years! If that's how you treat someone who has been bringing business in for 15 years how do they treat someone who has never been there and would want to just try a glass or ask questions. Overall the place was very crowded and I understand the staff were probably frustrated, but they were aware of our stop there and I'm sure there were many things that could have been done by the management or the owner to alleviate these problems, like setting up a little table on the side with some wines for us to try off of the beaten path so we wouldn't take up precious space at the bar and they could just let us do our thing. In the end I was very disappointed in my experience here and I plan to never return, which is a shame for such a beautiful place and wines...
Read moreNice winery located off the Great River Road National Scenic Byway. We stopped in for a wine tasting and enjoyed a couple glasses of wine after riding the Cassville Car Ferry from WI. The service was good and the girl helping us was friendly. They offer 4 or 5 samples for free or you can get 10 for a small fee. I felt like the wines were more on the sweeter side overall, but they were enjoyable and it was a nice break from driving/sightseeing. There's plenty of seating with areas in front and back when you walk in. There are two fireplaces in the front seating areas with TVs. It was early in the day so no fires, but they did have football on which I'm sure the men appreciated! They also had a cute shop with a variety of snacks, shirts, and whimsical gift-shop type stuff for sale. Great place. Definitely worth...
Read moreCalled ahead and asked if we needed reservations. I had questions, but she seemed really rushed, cut me off and dismissed me right away. Got there and asked if we had a reservation. We did get a table right away though. The place looked nice, but the service staff is not welcoming. The pizza was okay, but a little overcooked. We might have stayed longer to try more of the wines because there was a good selection. Overall, not a great experience. I've been to other wineries with better selections and...
