The work done here over the years is amazing. The restoration of the creek, and the grounds back to natural and native plants is beautiful. The facilities are great, and the on site ranger was a great guy to have available for the help. The conservation board was great and helpful through the process of planning a group outing, and made accommodations for us to be able to make it happen. Regular campers were around, and very friendly. As long as dogs are on leash and we’ll behaved, they are more than welcome. There was a random dog that was wondering through the night, but it looked as though it may have been a pet from a neighboring property. Only so much can be done in that regard. I cleaned out the fire pit when I arrived, to find trash, and a bunch of batteries that were buried in the ashes. Which is disheartening to see that guests of the park treat it that way, when so much care has been taken to upgrade it, and provide the opportunity to enjoy. Also a major highlight of the trip was the lightning show we got to experience, only negative was the 5” of rain, and slight risk of tornado. But I guess I’ll let the park off easy on the lack of control over the weather, because they made up for it in every...

This is a beautiful, spacious park with lots of trees and open spaces. There are several picnic shelters perfect for large gatherings. Restroom facilities spread throughout the park. There are areas for disc golfing, softball, volleyball and also several large play areas for the younger children. The park is divided by a creek running through it, with the road going right through it. Water today was maybe 2 feet deep and moving along leisurely. Families with kids were walking and splashing up and down stream; a nice way to cool off. There are lots of picnic tables spread throughout, some with grills nearby. Bathroom was simple, with a dump toilet and hand sanitizer. This is definitely a park that should be visited, especially on a hot day! Please give this review a thumbs up if you...

Lovely little Campground. Some pros: Water and electrical hook up with a dump station. Fun playground. Love that the little creek runs over the road so it splashes up when you drive through it!

It's a bit of a walk along a road to the nature center which chooses at 3:30 pm on weekdays☹️ We got there 3 minutes before they closed so turned around and walked back (a bit over a mile) without getting to see it. I've been told it's a really nice sized center with a live bee hive viewing window in the center!

A few cons: Bathrooms are OK, a bit dirty. There is no easily identifiable signage stating what to do when you get there for a site. The "kiosk " is over by the shower/ bath room with the...

Just discovered this beautiful county park the other day when our family was looking for an in between place to meet up. My husband and I live 2 1/2 hours northeast and our daughter, SIL, and grandsons live 2 hours west of Swiss Valley Park. My dad’s side of the family are all in Switzerland. We have been there a few times to visit and love it so much! What a great name for a park with rolling hills, a lovely creek meandering through, large trees, a chorus of songbirds, and cows grazing on the hillside. If the cows had bells, I would have thought I was in Switzerland. We couldn’t stay long but definitely will come back to camp sometime soon.
