We attended the Saving with Sustainability Workshop. We gained knowledge on how to make our compost healthier & also made our own rain barrel. Christian was helpful & friendly. They were both great educational classes. 🌍🍄🌞 Attended another great event today at the Wapsi Center. The Wild Flower Hike was led by Michael Granger. He was fun & knowledgleable. He also had a very nice educated Alumni helper. I'm sorry I didn't remember his Name. Michael showed US how to make rope from Dogwood, gave US the opportunity to try wild onion which was delicious, & even showed US a Towhee... & all for free! 🌿🌹🍀🌺🌱

Visited the park June 11 to observe the Cicada Brood XIII. What a fun hike! Besides cicadas I saw different species of dragonflies, frogs, tadpoles, water snakes, and newts!! It was great to get out of the city and feel at peace in such a well kept park. Clara was knowledgeable and very kind to open the Center for me! I’ll be returning!

Rented the Kestrel cabin and it was very nice. It is the only lodging on this environmental Park and so is very peaceful and the manager was very friendly and it includes free firewood. The only problem is that the flies around the park are really bad and of course get into the cabin. I wish there was some way of avoiding that.

Missed owls at the farmers market in Davenport iowa. We drove out to wapsi river environmental center with our 3-year-old granddaughter. The center is open til 4 pm on Saturdays. There was no-one around. When I called the numbers on the door or was the big call someone else circle. People say great things about this place, but I wasn't impressed. Maybe next time it will be better, this time...
