Yellow Smoke Park — Attraction in Iowa

Yellow smoke RV & Campground in Denison is absolutely gorgeous!! Very clean, beautifully maintained, lots of grass that is very well manicured and the Camp Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. This campground has a very beautiful large lake for fishing and Kayaking. Also, Plenty of space between RV’s for privacy and easy hook-ups. It has electric and water hook-ups. No sewer, but the dump station is a pull through, easy to access and very clean and maintained. It has a nice size playground for the kiddies and a very nice shower house complete with toilets for guests. Considering it's the closest place to town to go to... Water and electric with a basic shower house is provided for $20 a night but no sewer or other amenities which other campgrounds have for the same price or just a few dollars more. The lake is weed and algea choked so fishing is difficult at best. Open gates give people an opportunity to drive through and scope your property so they can return to steal it later (this is a frequent occurrence). Don't expect host to help you back into spots among all the trees either...but usually one of the other...

This campground/park is great. The nature center is a cool place. My kids got to handle some snakes and look at some wildlife. The walking trails are awesome and campsites galore, some a bit uneven. The downside it has is the business and noise. Always cars coming through and lots of people/visitors in the park. Fishing is good for kids, the lake is great for kayaks.My son came out of the swimming area full of leeches unfortunately. Otherwise...
