Big Powderhorn Mountain is a great, family ski area. The lodge is beautiful, our servers were so friendly and accommodating, the upstairs food menu is awesome and actually provides good value as far as ski food, and you can walk around with your boots off without feeling gross, because it's very clean and well-kept.
We stayed at a cabin right across from the lodge with the Big Powderhorn Lodging Association (seemingly not affiliated with the resort) and they were SPECTACULAR hosts. I highly recommend staying with BPLA.
The gift shop was closed the day we visited, but we've found very nice items there in the past; spending over $300 in there last year.

We have had some pretty serious housekeeping issues on the night we moved in, but they were promptly and completely resolved the following morning, going beyond what was necessary to do. Our car would not start when we were about to check out, we parked it the most inconvenient way in the driveway for jump starting, and did not have the cables on top of it. Mary in lodging got one of their people to come out and jump the car for us, even though he needed two trips for that to get the extra long cables. This was really great considering that our geico road side assistance did not have any services contracted in that area. Despite the issues with the move-in, really great experience and would certainly...
