We did both the Biobay and beach hopping tours and really enjoyed both! We met our drivers for both tours promptly at the agreed time in front of El Blok hotel in Esparanza. The Biobay tour was about 2 hours long, our guide Cruz was very knowledgable on the ecosystem that supports the Biobay and also pointed out constellations and planets in the clear sky. The bay itself was amazing to kayak through with glowing water anytime the kayak or paddles ran through the water, and having clear-bottomed kayaks added to the experience. The beach hopping tour was completely customized to our preferences - our guide Eric took us on a small trail, showed us cultural sights around the island, and took us to Caracas beach for snorkeling (unfortunately the currents that day prevented us from seeing much, but we still had a nice time in the water). He gave us multiple great recommendations for activities after our tour as well. Even when we had vehicle trouble in between, he dropped us off at the beach in his private vehicle, picked us up with a replacement, and added an extra trail onto our tour to make up for the disruption. We really appreciated the personal touch on the tours, and would definitely recommend...
Read moreOur trip was awesome! We met our driver outside our hotel, El Blok. The driver was very chill and nice. He spoke both English and Spanish. The van was old, but clean. They used plastic curtains between each row for Covid precautions. The road to Mosquito Bay is a bumpy one so be warned. The bay is amazing. Our guide, Cruz, was amazing and knowledgeable. The waters were calm and it was very easy kayak. Then again, my husband was doing most of the rowing because I couldn't stop looking at the water. My sister was in a single kayak and she was able to kayak with no problems. It is dark so if you need light and have a red light flash light, then bring it. If you use your phone or flash light, you will ruin your experience and others. These kinds of lights make it hard for your eyes to adjust to the darkness . Otherwise in the water you don't need it because you will want to appreciate the...
Read moreWe were unable to go on the bio bay tour because of excessive rain. While this company was prompt in sending info about the cancellation, they were very unorganized when they tried to reschedule. I was sent a generic message about the tours being reopened so I promptly replied to secure a place. I booked a room and extended my stay, only to get a message a few hours later that the tours would not continue until the following day. While I appreciate them not taking my money for a mediocre experience, I had to eat the cost of an extra night on Vieques because of their disorganization. I am sure the tour is worth the money, but I wouldn’t recommend using...
