Fisk Quarry Preserve — Attraction in Isle La Motte

Almost drove by the place without realizing it. We went straight to some rocks in the distance, climbed them and saw hardly a thing except a couple of garter snakes (though I might have seen some stromatolites). Most of the fossils were closer to where we parked on flat ground, many surrounded by small circles of stones. There was a sign that said an interpretative sign was 600 feet up the road,...

Had a lot of fun exploring the preserve! Dogs loved it. Had a great time walking the full way around the quarry. Plus it was fun looking for all the preserved fossils in the stone. Lived in VT my whole life and didn't even realize it was there! Little kids probably would find it boring but older kids and adults looking for an interesting new spot that is a little different from the usual VT hike...
