Most would not guess that the oldest coral reef in the world is in Vermont. 480 million years ago when there were no land animals there was an ancient ocean about where central Africa is now. It was teeming with life. Easy to access and close to the parking you can stand on this reef and see the impressions of the ancient life.

Nice, clear marked trails. Fun interpretive signs with really visible fossils. Beautiful property. Beautiful drive to get there. Visitors center wasn't open and no restrooms which wasn't evident on the website. Down the road from the quarry which was interesting to see.

A local resident recommended this place when I visited Isle La Motte on a recent bicycling trip. It was well worth stopping. There are lots of nice hiking trails and a great set of displays about the fossil formations in the limestone outcroppings. Fascinating place.

Very neat place to visit. Lived here 30 yrs and never knew this was here. Enjoyed the displays in the barn too. Old man was very kind and helpful & knowledgable, opposite of his wife who was too forward, contolling (tried to tell my brother in law how to walk with his mother), and argumentive, (the sign on the display said it was exactly what the old man said it was but the woman argued several times that it wasnt!) Left us uncomfortable and wanting to leave. I suggest visiting when she has...

A beautiful warm afternoon exploring the area. Reading the kiosk information was helpful to show us what to look for on the rock formations. We found many fossils hidden in the natural environment. However, given the current conditions of the trails, it was difficult to follow the paths and know which way to proceed in...
