We just vacationed here a family of 4 for a week. We camped in our 42 foot RV. Overall it’s a nice place. Inexpensive. They have full hook-ups. Friendly staff. We brought our boat and they have boat slips available for rent that’s affordable. You aren’t able to dock your boat at your camper. We didn’t like having to pull our boat out daily so we rented a slip for $6 a day with power. Some parts of the park is run down. The mini golf is severely neglected. The ranger in the office didn’t charge us to play because of how bad is it. There is a fallen tree laying across part of the course. The pool is closed because of Co-vid. There is no swimming area at the park. There is nothing for kids to do. If you have Verizon phone service it’s very spotty. AT&T seems to work very good there. We are a fishing family so we went mainly to fish. I recommend getting up early for fishing because there are so many pleasure boaters in the lake from 10am to dark. The lake is a beautiful view! There are hidden waterfalls in the coves. My kids enjoyed seeing the wildlife hanging out on the rocks. The lake is full of fish, we caught bluegills, channel catfish, crappie, small mouth bass, large mouth bass, drum, shell cracker, yellow perch, and white bass. If you’re just going for the lake it’s a good price. It’s not a...
Read moreThe park itself is very pretty on the banks of Pickwick Lake. We stayed in one of the cottages. I have posted pictures of the cottage because it was hard for me to find any when I tried looking prior to our trip. Boat slips are $21 per day for the large slips or $6 per day at the smaller dock that’s closer to the cabins/cottages. We didn’t use the bathhouse. The pool is only open Thursday-Sunday and we checked in on Sunday so only had a few hours to use it. It was nice but could have used a little cleaning. There is no WIFI anywhere in the park. There is cable television in the cottages. No stores within 20 minutes so don’t forget ketchup like we did. Miniature golf was $2 per person I believe. The beds in the cottages were not very comfortable. Next time we will try to rent an rv to camp in . Other than that it was very peaceful and nice. Employees...
Read moreI had to sweep the cabin floor upon arrival. The cabin is outdated. The bathroom could have been cleaner. In the kitchen there were several dead bugs behind the microwave. The refrigerator when opened had a moldy smell like it had sit out in the weather for some while. The two beds, the mattresses were old and seemed to want to fold in the middle. The outdoor light out back did not work. The cabin did have a good view of the lake but we had to clean the windows to see it good from inside. We were able to fish off the bank down below the cabin. I think this could be a lot nicer place to stay if the cabin had been updated. We stayed three nights for 254 tax included Labor Day Weekend. We would have been willing to pay a little more if the cabin had been nicer. I doubt we'll stay there again...
