This is a really nice Lake. It's located close to the Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi borders. It's actually the Tennessee River. And you can travel all the way down to the coast through a set of locks. If you're looking for a vacation spot, I suggest you check out the state parks located on the lake. There are cabins for rent which are reasonably priced and which offer Great Lake access. My family rented cabins both in Tennessee and in Mississippi a few years back. We had a great family experience and it didn't cost us an arm and a leg. I'd do that again in a heartbeat, except I have access to a lake house now.

The house was in Iuka Mississippi, such an adorable little town with the sweetest locals.
