Woodbury Shooting Range — Attraction in Jackson Township

So I purchased a new handgun and wanted to sight it in. We found this shooting range online and found out we needed to purchase a permit. So we go to rural king where everything goes fine. We drive all the way out to this place just to find it's closed. Google says it's open all the websites say it's open. Hell even rural king thought they were open. Do not give the state your money. They are already getting paid tax dollars to do their jobs. The least they can do is update their information so people don't waste their time and money. This is a joke. And judging by the other reviews the people running it sound disrespectful anyway. Others may have a better experience and may have known it was closed during the winter. But this is 2025 not everyone knows everything by word of mouth. UPDATE YOUR INFO! Oh and the range does look really nice from the outside. Couldn't tell you what it's like...

My husband and I drove quite a distance to come and enjoy an afternoon on the range with my elderly father. The range is very impressive and nice. However the range officer running the range on this day was extremely disappointing. The range officer lacks people skills and the common sense needed to run the range. My husband who is a retired law enforcement officer was treated very poorly. It seemed as if the guy running the range did not care for my husband. We were ther for approximately an hour or so and in during that time we were harassed and critiqued at least four times. I can really understand as to why this range is so underutilized. It is because of people like him that ruin it for everyone else. I don’t think I will be coming back...

Great range! However the older gentleman that was running the range today was very rude inconsiderate and unsafe. We had a gun that had a sticking firing pin. We had to completely disassemble the gun to diagnose the problem. We reassembled the gun and he was trying to push us out of the range at 430 when it closes at 5. We told him we just needed a few quick shots to ensure it was fixed. We took one shot and without even asking us if the range was clear with a loaded gun still pointed down range he drives right out in front of us on his gator and pulls our targets and drove away.
