We were in town for the weekend on a wine trip with friends and everywhere we went, we heard about Cooper Vineyards. So of course we had to make a visit to their tasting room.
It's a beautiful and large winery with lots of seating inside and outside. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and were seated in their enclosed back patio. And were told that their wine tasting was complimentary! Wow! Their marsanne white and barbera were excellent.
The wine tasting was fun thanks to our hostess Jane. She kept us entertained. She told us all about their winery and it's production.
Unfortunately this was our 3rd winery of the day and we were pretty wined out so we only ended up buying two of their barberas. We will have to do another trip...

Neither my wife or I cared for most of the varietals, finding the wines too sweet for our palates. Once we got into the bigger reds, they got better. Staff is very knowledgeable and experienced and were very welcoming. They were relatively busy but we never felt ignored. We will give them another shot next year when we visit with the hope that our palates or the next vintage is a bit more enjoyable. If you like sweet wines, especially in the whites, you'll...
Read moreWine was decent but 3 or 4 of the staff here (some with the last name Cooper) belonged in Napa. Amador wine is amazing, but we got yelled at from the second we arrived. This has been a family annual visit for years but the last 2 in a row we've been shamed for our presence. They "explained" to us about 10 times WHY they kept treating us terrible (something about another group and then later it was that they didn't expect us, even though we scheduled with them prior to arrival), but they never changed their tune or actually apologized. Will likely never return and encourage others to consider ANY of the other nearby...
