Today I surprised Deacon and Kayla Beth Fields with a trip into Ohio to Rose Valley Animal Park/Farm. It is a lovely quite large Petting Zoo with many animals including some exotic ones!
You park and go in. One way in and out so pretty safe for the kiddos. Inside you pay $10 for everyone over the age of 2. Cups of feed are $2 for 1 cup or $5 for 3 cups and they are the traditional bathroom Dixie cup size.
There is a parakeet room where you are greet warmly by swarms of colorful blue, green, yellow & White birds!!!Please watch wear you step..they are everywhere!!! So super friendly!!!
They also have a habitat in the lobby with 2-3 Sloths inside. I saw 2 but Deacon said there was 3. The next large area is the main stable area for most of the animals...Yaks, OXen, Deer, Kangaroos, Many types of different chickens, goats and rabbits, donkeys, camels, miniature horses, large horses, calves, pigs, sheep and zebra.
Outside is additional enclosures with Ostriches, better views of the camels and goats, sheep, horses, Buffalo, Llama & alpaca and there is also a baby Giraffe.
They have several playground areas which are a big hit. A splash pad, a kettle corn & lemonade truck and a food truck with plenty of covered picnic tables. It's a lovely way to spend a few hours with your family!! Definitely going back, next time taking Saige!! She will love all those gorgeous animals and will need to...
Read moreI'm sure the park is great, but the guy was rude enough that I don't want to go back to even see as I don't want to give them my money now. I couldn't find their hours or website, though it looks like they may just have a facebook page, so I took a chance and drove out there on a Monday. There was a sign in front of the barn that said do not enter, but I thought maybe it was just for those specific animals. The parking lot was empty though and I figured they were closed, but I did drive my kids 40 minutes out there, so I walked up to the door just to check and make sure. Not a big deal, as least I thought. A guy comes up in his holf cart and asked if he can help me. I asked if they were open and he said, do you see that sign there? I told him I wasn't sure if that was for the whole place or not. He said he was just real aggravated that he had to keep coming down there to tell people they are closed even though the hours are clearly stated online. I told him I didn't see them online and he said, they're there. I asked him where and he said on Facebook. I don't get on Facebook, but I saw the billboard and looked them up on Google maps. I did submit to add the hours and facebook link on here, so that other people might have an easier time. Lots of people say it's a fun place, but maybe they can work on their customer service and not talk to them like...
Read moreWe had a great experience the first time we had gone, however, Hailey (the employee in the bird room) was screaming at our two 3 year old children. The birds got into the children’s hair and scares them, Hailey screams for the children to be quiet or they would have to leave. As we were getting the children to walk out, Hailey screamed so loud that the employees that were standing at the entrance door heard her. We told her they were 3 years old, do not scream at them, she continues to scream as we leave. The employees approached us as we walked out, asked us what happened, we told them, they apologized and asked if we had got a chance to spend time with the birds and that they would go back in with us, we declined, advising her the behavior was unacceptable and we were leaving. Hailey then comes out, walked up to us as we were leaving, we then told her how unprofessional she has behaved and that we will not be coming back. I fully understand how important it is for the birds not to be scared, but it’s not acceptable to scream at 3 year...
