We visited Schwabacher Landing the first week of September and it was still very crowded. Even when we drove around 6AM, the parking lot was already packed. If you come later, you’ll likely end up parking very far from the river, which makes the experience less enjoyable. The key is to be there before 5AM like what most people do if you want a decent spot for photos.
It was difficult to get a good shot because of the crowd, everyone was trying to set up for the same view. I wish they would improve the parking situation or maybe create a designated area where people can line up fairly to get their turn for the iconic shot. Until then, it’s really about timing and patience.
That said, the view itself is absolutely breathtaking. Watching the sunrise hit the Teton range and seeing its reflection in the calm river is unforgettable. These were raw, unedited photos captured using my iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the beauty still came through perfectly.
It was very cold that early in the morning, so make sure to wear something warm or bring a blanket. On the positive side, there’s at least one restroom in the area, which is convenient. The view is beautiful, but you’ll need to prepare for the crowds and chilly weather to...
Read moreGot here roughly 20 mins before sunrise, and there was only a handful of photographers already on the bank ready to go. Had our pick of finding our spot, and just enjoyed the silence and stillness of the area. People started filling in up until sunrise and even after. It was probably around 20-30 people at peak sunrise time - I can’t imagine summer here. Very popular location for the sunrise! Make sure to get there early in peak people seasons! Otherwise, you may get stuck a tad down river where there’s a stream that meets with the river and you won’t get the mirrored mountains. We just sat on the bank with our iPhones and took some photos and watched the show. They also have restrooms and a small hike to another viewpoint where you can see the mountains with a tree line. Highly recommend this place for sunrise or just to view...
