THE BIRDS LITERALLY ATE MY TRUCK, CAMPER, AND KAYAK!!! Yes, a flock of about 100-200 Vulture type birds took massive chunks out of the plastic and rubber seals all up under my wiper blade area, my windshield seal, my tonneau cover seals both front and back as well as rubber over the hinge portion in two places, they ripped off a plastic knob on the cover, plus their claws scratched my paint on my truck hood and roof down to the primer in some places and more minor scratches in about 100 places, plus they damaged the two seats in my Kayak, plus they ate the seal putty on top of my RV in about eight places.
They woke us us up both mornings on the roof of the camper and i ran them off both days, but i didn't know at that time they were eating and scratching everything. I feel if they would have had more time they would have figured out the the camper roof itself was made of rubber, as most all campers are, and completely destroyed the entire roof.
My new diesel truck truck with less than 20,000 miles, Kayak, and 5th wheel camper will never be the same. I estimate $5000 in damage for a two night stay at this place from hell. Super nice park and lake, but I will NEVER...
Read moreI first came to lake Jacksonville at the age of 9 or 10 ,with my dad and grandpa to go fishing. And I've always loved it! My own experience that I found by myself, was the fact that you can swim there. I am very thankful for the free swimming at this exquisite lake. I began to swim here as a teenager, and I love it much more than a pool. I enjoy the turtles that swim nearby the land. And the cabin things are nice too. As far as fishing, I haven't fished much on lake Jacksonville after my dad got rid of his boat. I also love the fireworks show on lake Jacksonville in July 4th,there's an apartment complex called Travis Towers and on the sixth floor of that building, you can see the fireworks from lake Jacksonville! And this building is about six to eight miles away, so it's beautiful to be able to see them from that place. I love lake...
Read moreVery pretty area but a very disappointing experience. We enjoyed our short time there for the most part, except for all the rule breakers & the fact that the facilities seem to be very neglected. Screens ripped open - cobwebs galore - no hand soap in the bathroom - bathroom doors donât lock - shower was filthy. We were supposed to stay two nights but decided to leave when our electricity went out and there wasnât anybody manning the phones on Saturday to help us. The breaker box was fine, the issue was with the broken reset button on the plug. Itâs a nice piece of property for RVing but we wonât be back until some overdue maintenance is done & they create a job position for somebody to enforce public safety rules. Avoid shelter #7 until they fix the outlet & if you donât want to sleep...
