I come to parks to hike but the views here are what most come for. And I understand and agree.

There are 4 lots, labeled Lots 1-4. Lots 2-3 are where most of the action is, with the lighthouse. But, most folks, per my observation, park at 2 or 3 to access the rocky areas overlooking the water. It is beautiful and scenic. You don't need to access any trails to get to the water and rocky areas. There are a plethora of options and outcroppings to get down to the water even though this is cliff-like. Simply awesome and this scenery is indicative of what Rhode Island is.

As far as trails, here they are:

Lot 1 has the Red Dot Trail. This is a loop, poorly marked (Google Maps has it mapped), completely shaded, easy, and flat. There are maybe 2 areas that overlook the water but are obstructed. Frankly, this is an ordinary and boring trail. Maybe would take most people 10 minutes to walk.

Lot 2 has the Blue Dot Trail. This is better marked, it is a loop, but mostly open and not shaded. Easy and would take you no more than 10 minutes to walk. There are two areas where you can access the water (I wouldn't do it as it is dangerous) and one has a rope for help. There are better views and access to the rocks from Lots 2-3 without having to access any trails.

Lot 4 has the Green Dot Trail. It is inaccessible and completely overgrown.

The best parts again are around the lighthouse, Lots 2 and 3, to access the rocky areas and get to the water or whatever. It is awesome. The original lighthouse monument thingy is also behind the lighthouse.

The Beavertail name is given due to the shape of this part of the island.

The views here are scenic. Please take your time around the lighthouse, access the rock outcropping areas around it, and enjoy this...

The plan was to catch the biggest striped bass available at the location. Got home empty handed. I am sure you will do better.

I got there at 4 a.m. on the 16th. of July. Fishing locations are pretty much all around the peninsula so pick your poison. I was on the west side pretty much under the lighthouse. Seems to me like a perfect location and a perfect morning but no bit.

There are four free parking lots, each with a trailhead. Two on the western side as you enter the park. Traffic is one way, as you looped around there are two more free parking lots before you exit the park.

Dogs are allow but do pick up after them. There still some dog that do not pick after themselves, surprisingly.

I see people bicycling but if you have kids there is no way to keep an eye on them as the road is a loop and they will disappear on you once they begin their ride. They will be sharing their ride with car traffic.

People are jogging, tanning and obviously fishing. The are numerous signs to stay off the rocks but I doubt it’s doing any good. How can you fish if you can’t go on the rocks. This is a popular fishing spot so fishing is allowed as far as I know.

Plenty of restroom so no need to worry. A few don’t that was posted are swimming, grilling and overnight camping.

From the signs there are aquarium and museum but it was closed when I was there. A lot of open grassland perfect for kit but do not know for a fact that it is allow.

Such a beautiful place but I was disappointed that grilling is not allowed even though I...

There are two sides to this park. One has jagged rocks and is exposed to the open sea. You can watch waves crash and soak in the open ocean ambiance through all of your senses. The other side has small lagoons, cliffs that slope down to tiny, secluded beaches, and trails through the woods that open up to vast expanses looking over Narragansett Bay. Come here for a picnic, bring the family, bring the one you're about to propose to, or sneak down at night and take a romantic skinny dip on your own little private beach soaked in moonlight. Come here to get married or bask in the glory of being single and free. There are public out-houses, vast grassy fields, cliffs, lagoons, rocks to climb (be safe), and endless nooks to explore. It's one of the few places in RI where you can watch the sun rise and set over the water too. Worth a 20 minute stay or...

One of the most scenic views in Rhode Island. Love this special state park, with the trails and coast line. Lighthouse, museum, and aquarium, along with great fishing from the rocks. Careful not to slip and be sure to keep an eye on the tides if you are fishing close to the water. The waves here are so nice to watch and hear, especially during storms. Fun to go to the sailboat race around the island and to see all the people and boats. Plenty of parking here. Great stop on the bike tour. Love exploring all the pools and lagoons within the rocks. Dog friendly so they can explore too, but please keep on leash. Thank you to all the staff that make this park so special.
