First, I think they should allow for half stars because a 4.5 is more appropriate, and my family loved the place!
First the kind of negative, then the good. It is a semi-new location so I understand that the curves are being adjusted.
Could help: At check in there was no information about the campground, as far as handout or park maps. This could be beneficial to us newbies. Information regarding how to get to your site (park map, ex. site six you have to go in against the typical flow to park your trailer with hookups on the right side)info about the ziplines, the times of the tours, services they provide, fishing information and hiking could help a lot. The roads were a tad bit slim for those of us pulling longer rigs, so running over grass was inevitable no matter how wide one makes a turn. Maybe a playground would be good for a later upgrades as well.
The GOOD: It is a great, secluded, easy going place, where, if one wishes to relax, surely can. The spaces are pretty level (side to side) with a decent amount of room for a large family like mine. Ziplines are right there along with fishing ponds to pass some time. We learned there are also hiking trails that may also have waterfalls to view as well. To top it off it is only about 4.5 miles from Fiery Gizzard trail, which a must do (we recommend the day loop for those with children)!
Overall, I recommend the park without hesitation. We WILL be back and look forward to many more...
Read moreWhere to begin, we arrived right at check in and was welcomed with a smile. We completed the process and was escorted to our site for the weekend. With over 500 acres to play on, there is a ton to do! They spend the time to maintain the property and keep it looking nice! Our boys went zip lining for the first time ever and the guides were extremely kind and encouraging. Our site was really nice as well with a ton of trees for shade. Fishing ponds were a pretty sight to see all weekend and we were even able to catch a few fish over the weekend. We walked the few trails on property and also checked out the water fall, very cool! Overall, a great trip and a very nice place to visit if your looking for something new and full of fun activities. Lastly, I will finish with the negatives which don't compare to the positive by any means. One being there is only one bathhouse with one bath/shower for the whole property. We had to wait inline a bunch due to people taking showers, etc. Another being that there is know designated area to take your trash. Both of these show up in several reviews when you research this place. Lastly, at times there was know staff upfront to take care of people so it got backed up a few times. Mostly due to shift change or people leaving for the day. Overall its a great place to check out and I'd go back this weekend if we could. Thanks Bigfoot Adventures for a...
Read moreThis is a lovely place for hunters and corporate retreats. Family stuff is limited but you can certainly do a lot of hiking and get some incredible views. They say this is a resort on their sign but resort indicates more amenities. There is no swimming pool, but you can swim at the waterfall area. There is no on site restaurant or concession stand. They do have a small store with merchandise to sell but not much in the way of essentials. The bathhouse is small and older. The campsites are tight fitting. With all the land this place has to offer, they could have allowed more room at the RV sites and kept a few shade trees. They have one TeePee and one treehouse you can rent. Why not make a TeePee village and have a common area where people can gather at a fire pit? This could accommodate family gatherings for reunions and possible local indigenous people’s could provide historical teaching and entertainment. Why not add a few more treehouses? I’d love to bring the grandkids for the zip lining but other RV campgrounds offer more kid friendly amenities than this place does. If you don’t have kids and don’t require more then this is a...
