Boykin Spring Lake — Attraction in Jasper

All the mosquitos and biting flies suck bad and just don't stop. The little lake is small too. Fish are small that I caught. Water on beach side is unclear can't see more than a few inches. Supposed to have some hiking trails nearby but haven't used them yet. Water level is extremely low and the water feed in is barely flowing. Not alot of elbow room on the beach part if other people are there either. I'd recommend skipping it and finding another spot...

I feel like I should have to pay full price if I'm not allowed to have a fire, which we didn't know about until we got there, but we still had a nice time. We just went hungry because we couldn't cook any of the food we brought. Check for a burn ban...

Visited last Saturday. Hiked the trails but didn't visit lake. Was hiking to the mill but started getting dark, 2-1/2 mile hike one way. Planning to go back soon and see the old mill and lake....
